I did the tour of the three towers without the family as they don't have a head for heights. Each of the three towers is interesting in its own right as they all had different uses. La Lanterne was used as a prison for a long time and many seafaring brits of old seem to have been thrown in there... More

When you arrive in La Rochelle come up here to get a perfect feel of the old mercantile and naval port and also to get your bearings for a wander round the old parts of the town. More
