An excellent ,informative tour in English, by a knowledgeable guide. With a free discount voucher from our hotel, we paid 5e each for the 1 hour tour, with 2 shots of cognac each. (dearer tastings were available to buy).We preferre this to other tours, because o the Chateau tour.....and also as Hennessey is STILL closed until early 2016.

We booked a visit by email. Unfortunately in the email we were told the tour started at 3pm, and on arrival just before 3 we were informed that the tour had already started; we therefore missed the start of it; which was unfortunate as we were looking forward to hearing about the history of the castle. That said, the rest... More

This tour was well worth the visit. Our guide was excellent and his English was too. The buildings date to 1756 and are interesting in their own rite. The cognac making exhibit is well put together with very interesting visual aids and equipment newer and older. The explanation of the process was very well done. After this we were taken... More

We are not cognac experts of massive fans so we decided to do this tour as we were told by the tourist office that it also gave some of the history of the castle in cognac. Our tour was in English and was very informative and did exactly what we wanted. The history of the castle and the town added... More

Finding out a little French history as well as a tour of the distillery, very informative, excellent guide and the cognac at the end was nice too! Well worth the 8 euros, can highly recommend Ottard to you

Being in Cognac ,wanted to visit a producer. Excellent tour of what is part of the old fort. The guide spoke in French (the English tour was in the afternoon) but took the trouble to give our party of four a potted account in English from time to time. Very thoughtful.

The distillery is on the site of the Castle of Cognac so the tour is different than the other distilleries in that it includes a guided tour of parts of the castle. The tours are all timed so recommend that you go to the tourist office and book ahead , the tourist office know the times of the tours in... More

On our tour of the French Atlantic coast, we visited the home of the internationally-renowned cognac, described by Victor Hugo as "the drink of the Gods". This little unassuming town has a population of about 20,000. The landscape is charming and hilly, meadows and vineyards stretch as far as the eye can see. Cognac was invented 300 years ago by... I've taken visitors to this tour twice. Both guides were very friendly and had lots of great stories to tell. The great thing about this tour is that as well as touring the distillery, and finding out how cognac is made, the chateau itself is beautiful and completely fascinating. Highly recommended!

we were lucky enough to be the only ones on the 10:30 english tour, so we essentially had a private tour! Francois was a great tour guide - patient with all our questions, and detailed with his explanations about both the chateau and cognac distillation.i also loved touring and learning about the history of the chateau itself, which was an...
