The Cointreau distillery in Angers offers a guided tour of the stills, history, production & bottling areas and a long hall with examples of the company's advertising over the last 150 years. Hugely enjoyable with a very helpful and friendly guide. The 2 hour tour ends with a very generous tasting in the bar of a Cointreau shot and a... More

We enjoyed our visit - it was a lot bigger than some other places in Saumur. The process and history as well explained, with a good tasting to finish. The branding in 1850's was largely responsible for the success and it continues today, but not quite so personal as some other distrilleries in the area.

if you like Cointreau then do this tour. It is in French which makes it difficult if you don't speak fluent French and the English handouts provided really did not tell the whole story. But in the end that doesn't matter that much as there is so much to look at throughout the whole tour, including the incredible bottling plant... More

We enjoyed visiting the distillery. There was a group of exchange students, tour was in French but the guide took time to also repeat in English. In the brewing section, we toured while the guide gave the French version then we switched and got the English version. It was interesting for the history, manufacturing process, and seeing the quantity of... More

I love factory tours and this one was interesting but the guided tour was quite long and all in French apart from a few English words thrown in here and there.. I had friends with me who don't speak French and had to translate. The best bit was the cocktail mixing at the end.
