Would be a nice old square but for the church - see separate entry. Lots of old buildings including the - allegedly - oldest inn in France. What, the whole of France? So it claims.

This could be so much better, but the French will never run out the druggies, drunks and degenerates that camp permanently in the archeological ruins at the center of this 1000 year old marketplace...it's worthwhile to visit to see the square and the buildings surrounding, along with the exact place of Joan of Arc's demise...but don't plan to linger, those... I went here hoping to find a good farmer's market and was disappointed. Cheap old clothes and trinkets and very limited selection of produce etc. If you are looking for a wonderful farmer's market, head to St. Pierre sur Dives on Monday mornings.

Nothing different from others places. The city is nice in a global way and not to see particular places. Nice building

Beautiful spot in Rouen. Sit at a café or picnic on a seat outside of the Jeanne d'Arc church and just watch the people go by. Lovely spot in Rouen.

This lovely town square puts you in the proximity of everything you need to see in Rouen. The church of St Joan of Arc with its modern architecture and old stained glass windows is right in the center of the square where Joan was martyred. So is the daily market, well worth a visit, and many fine restaurants including one... More

Place du Vieux Marche is surrounded by very pretty old timber houses: this is what I personally liked the most. It still has an atmosphere of an old city market, but obnoxious street vendors selling all kinds of cheap junk and quite arrogant beggars spoil the impression. The place of Joan's Arc execution is hard to find; maybe because the... More

There are plenty of places to eat around this square. You can tour the modern Joan of Arc church, see the site where she was burned at the stake, and view the foundation of the remains of a church that was destroyed in 1783. There are a couple of clubs here in case you are looking for some type of... More

The historic spot where Joan of Arc was burned at the stake is reduced to a noisy, touristy square. Only virtue is the modern and interesting Church of Jeanne d’Arc.
