It's not the Louvre but worth the 5e

This new museum opened in March 2015 and has all the new hi-tech video projection stuff that you now expect in a place like this. Very interesting, must have cost a fortune to set up and well worth the entrance fee for the hour and a bit video tour, with headphones in English if your French (like mine) is less... More

This was terrific - my favourite museum in Rouen. It uses digital media to recreate the story of Jeanne d'Arc using the Archbishop's palace as the venue. The previous reviewer has provided an excellent summation so I will just add my concurrence and hearty recommendation. And yes, unless your French is excellent, rent the translator.

The new museum dedicated to Joan of Arc and her legacy reopened in Rouen in late March 2015 on the very site where her trial took place - the archbishop's Palace. Entry is 9.50 euros (there are concessions). If your French is not very good it is worth buying the headsets to listen to the proceedings in English. You are... More

We looked forward to experiencing the story of Joan of Arc though the miniature model of the castle at Rouen and the towers where she had been held captive, and the life sized wax figures arranged in scenes from her life. But the owner apparently retired and took the museum with him so it no longer exists. Disappointing.

Will be going to Rouen in December (2013). Would love to visit the museum but from all I've read, it closed in October 2012! ???

Clearly an iconic spot in the troubled relations between France and England in medieval times. Brings the stories to life

Currently in Rouen and went to the museum to find it closed 'due to fire damage', with a 'For Sale (à vendre)' sign on the doors.

It's a small museum that looks a little dodgy from the outside. We were concerned that it was more off a tourist trap than authentic musee, but once we went it, it was worth the money. It has displays of memorabilia, models of towns and wax exhibits with audio ccommentary. But the end of your visit (less than one hour)... More

Small out gift shop at the entrance opens out back downstairs to longer rooms, hallways and cellar which contains some intriguing historic pieces. There is a wax exhibit representing stages of her life, commentary is in 4 languages. The exhibit shows scenes from her birth to being burned at the stake. Worth a visit if you don't know anything about... More

we visited this museum in july 2012 with our two children 6 and almost three. The museum is at the back of a little gift shop across the road from the church dedicated to Joan. Our children had not herd the story of Joan and so really enjoyed pressing the buttons and listening to the story (available in English french... More
