Located in an almost idyllic parc at the center of a quaint and full of character Rouen, this cathedral is a beautiful expression of Gothic architecture which culminated just around the time this church was built. The nave, transept, the grandeur of exterior decorations and characteristic roofline all combined remind the art and architecture lover of the beauty simple Burgundian... More

Monet painted a lot on the outside. Inside the church also very attractive. Many master paintings and works. You will not disapointed.

I visited the Cathedral many times - everytime it is a renewned enjoyment. Since the facade is now entirely free from scaffoldils (which ruined it for years), the building is visible in its majesty, a pure Gothic jewel. Inside and outisde, on can watch medieval treasures. To name but a few: splendid typical Gothic windows, the tombs of Richard Lionheart,... More

Having stayed at the nearby Mercure on a number of occasions, we made the effort on our last visit in January to visit the cathedral. It is massive once inside, very dark and very quiet. Of particular significance at this time was a memorial to the 130 people who had been murdered in the recent terrorist atrocity in Paris. Worth... More

One of the finest monument in terms of architecture and intricacies of the facade. The carvings leaves one spellbound. A visit to this cathedral is a must for tourists holidaying in Normandy. There is a lot of history in regards of war atrocities and the bullet marks very much seen all over. The interior is untouched with tall ceilings and... More

The Cathedral is in the heart of Rouen and having visited many cities and their churches this is one of the most impressive I’ve seen. The external facades are captivating, though I would recommend some kind of guide for exploring the interior. The impressionist artist Claude Monet became obsessed with this Cathedral, painting 11 pictures in all which depict the... More

The Cathedral of Rouen is really something different. It can be compared to Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris but it offers a more intimate environment. Rouen's Cathedral is so beautiful that Monet felt totally in love with and dedicated many paints to. Inside Musee D'Orsay you can indeed see different perspectives of the Cathedral painted by Monet. Go to see... More

This is very central, and the entire old town is nearby. Well worth the 15 minutes or so. It is free also. It is closed between 12 and 2pm

We came up on this cathedral by chance. What a beautiful church. The facade of the cathedral is unbelievable. Definitely worth the time to visit. So glad that we did. I really enjoyed the smaller towns in France.

What an amazing Cathedral, built over 2-3 centuries, look up wiki for more accurate history, Rouen is a beautiful city, about 2 hours by car west of Paris. Joan of Arc church is here too, very interesting architecture.
