The cathedral is striking and very large. On a scorching hot day on July 1st when temperatures hit 40℃ in Rouen, we went into the cathedral after dining. The interior is beautiful and inside was as cool as if there was air conditioning. Beautiful voices drifted on the air and at first we thought it was a recording. We were... More

It's a beautiful piece of story and art. And in summer there's this magnificent show of lights and sounds that you must see.

In typical Notre Dame style. The most interesting part was reading about the damage and repairs made after the WW2 bombings.

I was very appreciative that our guide on a trip to Rouen and Monet's Garden, spent considerable time providing a historical background to this remarkable Gothic structure that was begun in the 12th century. One could spend hours just absorbing the complexities of the façade, before going inside to see the wonderful stained glass. The structure suffered from various wars,... More

Beautiful carvings on face of church and an excellent example of gothic style. Very historic: Richard the Lion-Hearted here as is Rollo, who in converting to Christianity in 911, brought peace to the region. Smaller than Notre Dame in Paris, but so much more serene and spiritual. Great stained glass windows. Painted 32 times by Monet and made famous by... More

This beautiful cathedral is in the heart of my favorite European city, Rouen. It was painted by Monet and Rouen was a target for Allied bombers early in the war because if its importance in shipping and rail travel. This cathedral is worth it and contains the heart of William the Conquerer entombed.

This Catholic cathedral may not seem that majestic if compared to the likes of Sacre Coeur or Notre Dame de Paris, but it nonetheless showcases some impressive Gothic architecture. Overall the historic importance of this cathedral can still be felt today, and if you're in the area it also won't hurt to check out the medieval town where this cathedral... More
