Definitely loved getting to see this cathedral inside and out. On site of where Joan of Arc was burned at the stake. Amazing architecture. Lovely to sit at cafe on side with view of cross and take in the structure

This church is so different in architecture and design that I am sure it would polarize people. My thoughts were that the very difference in the design, in this location is what makes it special. the architect could not compete with the Notre Dame so this is a good alternative.

While the church is very modern, the Stained glass is from the masters. It was so still, quiet, and beautiful when we visited that I would recommend it to anyone regardless of religious background for the simple beauty!

In this modern ( 1970's) church are 13 re-sited stained glass windows dating between 1520 and 1550. These masterpieces of French Renaissance stained glass were removed from St Vincent's Church prior to the outbreak of WWII and placed into sheltered storage. (Fortunate as that church was destroyed by bombing). The detail, colours and realism of the various depictions are breathtaking... More

From the outside to the in - what a superb structure and monument to a famous female warrior and a functional building for today.

Outside the church is a large cross, placed exactly where Jeanne d'Arc was burned. Inside the Church itself is a very large stain glass window and a beautiful sculpture to Jeanne d'Arc. There are some great restaraunts surrounding this Church as well, so you can admire the architecture from outside. The roof depicts the flames rising up the stake. Worth... More

The church is actually quite modern but it is a quite interesting design - mimicing the flames of St Joan's pyre. There is a place that marks the actual burning right outside the church. There is also a very lovely market around the church. Just a nice 5 min walk from the cathedral.

What does the exterior shape of this church represent, anyway? We wouldn't have known it was a church had our guide not informed us of that fact. We noticed the church's entrance when a man opened a narrow side door. We had to squeeze by him to enter. Inside, the church looks very modern. It's grey concrete walls contrast with... More

Beautiful church designed by Louis Gerard Arretche - curves like a dragon with scales. The stained glass Windows are amazing and the leadwork of the stained glass windows reveals the outline of candles. Outside we can see a modest statue of Joan wearing the 'maid's cap' the flames are represented by flaming orange day lilies. You enter through a small... More

The architect of this church has go it just right. Combining the ancient stained glass with the modern building and blending the structure of the church with the market have been done very skilfully. You cannot escape the thoughts of what happened to Joan of Arc in 1431 but you are firmly in the present day. Tourists abound but not... More
