This is a perfect place to while away a couple of hours in Rouen. The permanent collection is vast, covering icons to modern art, the impressionist section being particularly good. The price to visit the permanent collection is €5 which is very reasonable. My only quibble would be that the toilets were not well-stocked with paper, soap or hot water.

Loved seeing the artwork of Monet. A pleasant walk from cathedral square. No lines and not jammed with tourists but a good mix of art work.

Apart from the often praised impressionist collection, we were not that impressed by this museum. Sure: it is quite big, but the top works are to be found from the 19th century onwards. They should also take the time to dust off the statues in the central hall. Quite franckly: it is a museum of that size and name unworthy... More

This was an incredible experience. The museum has a fine collection with some absolute stunners. We wanted to stay for about an hour but left exhausted and delirious after two. Best beaux-arts museum in France. ( in Paris there are always crowds) my advice: go between 12 and 14 hours. Very very quiet and for most of the time one... More

Eventually visited here after walking through the old town. The staff were very helpful and the art superb, need a few hours to appreciate everything.

I dont usually get 'excited ' about art galleries but this one just blew me away. Beautifully displayed in so many galleries it could have taken all day and longer to discover each fabulous artefact. Further description is worthless - GO VISIT.

Nice to find an art museum with such a level of paintings in Rouen. Spent most of the time in the Impressionist section since Rouen was fundamental in the beginnings of this art movement. Very quiet so plenty of time to look at paintings without being interrupted or with people in your way.

Lots of great art, including some marvelous paintings mentioned in other reviews, but for us it was difficult to move between rooms.

If you read the list of paintings on display, you would think this was an exciting museum, but somehow we found this regional art gallery among the most somber we have visited. The Musee Des Beaux-Arts is in a neoclassical structure about a 5-10 minute walk from the city center. Inside, it has two floors around a central atrium with... More
