And I went there to see the impressionists but I did not find them , so I have to come back. Maybe it is my fault

The museum has a fantastic collection, particularly among the Impressionists. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There is wheelchair access, but not to the sculpture garden or gift shop.

If you had the opportunity to visit some temporary exhibitions in other museums, you would notice that often there is at least one loan from this museum. This museum has a world class collection that would be the envy of many capitals and major cities. The impressionist collection is the most remarkable but the museum is strong in other movements/painters... More

The Fine Arts Museum of Rouen has an excellent permanent collection of Impressionist art. The permanent collection includes many works representing Norman artists across the ages and on a yearly basis there is a fine special exhibit. Programs for children and adults. Guides. Conferences. Art classe.

Outstanding collection, and you can visit in peace and quiet unlike Parisian museums. For only 5 euros, you can visit all three museums in the center.

The structure is beautiful and the art is quite good. Unlike Paris where every museum was crowded with a long line to get in (and expensive), the museum is reasonably priced, small crowds so that all the art was quite visible, and friendly staff. There are lockers to store bags. Art from many periods and styles are there. It is... More

This is only five euros to go in but is full of fantastic paintings and works of art. Need a least a day to take in all in.

On a visit of a few days, this makes a nice interlude. Although the oddity of their partial opening arrangement and forced routing almost caused us to miss the modern section. However, from my point of view, it was worth it just to see a painting of a traditional method of selling oranges. It was free on Sunday, as I... More

I go to Rouen every year, and I always go to this museum (and the other two museums, the Ceramic Museum and the Ironworks Museum, both of which are unique and remarkable). The Beaux-Arts (Fine Arts) museum has a choice collection of Impressionists and other Normandy-focused artists, plus very well done special exhibits. The collection of religious works is spectacular,... More

Oozing quality art from every frame, this museum must be seen. Spend a few hours here as early in the day as possible and you just might have the place to yourself!
