Yes, it is a bit touristy; but if you squint you can see the beautiful narrow buildings; the gorgeous still harbor water reflecting boats, lights and buildings; the gorgeous imposing Lieutenance building (undergoing construction when I visited :(. Smell the sea air, and maybe feel and see what Monet, Boudin and others felt and saw.

It was nice to discover this old port. You cannot imagine these old house facing the port like in Holland. A little bit too much touristic but plenty of nice places.

Even on a cold rainy day Honfleur is worth a stop and a wander through the streets. Plenty of places to stop and have a coffee or meal. Good variety of shops.

We arrived for la fete de la musique and there was a grand stage and it was an absolute folly! The area is beautiful and the sunset was magnificent. I would definitely recommend that you eat some moules frites! Some photos of this area can be found here: http://peak-exposure.com/adventures/2013/8/17/normandy-and-brittany

Very pretty working harbour. Surrounded by excellent restaurants. Lots of, quite expensive, arts and crafts shops, all of a very high quality. A lovely day out.

I have arrived at the Vieux Basin by land (on a bicycle and in a car) and by sea (in a 31 foot yacht). Though the perspective is a little different, the old harbour ringed by it's beautiful high houses is stunning. You can buy fresh fish on the quai side on 6 days a week and have a glass... More

The trip to see this pretty town was well worth it, the buildings are picturesque ans an excellent backdrop to the sailing boats. Plenty of good looking restaurants ans bars. If you want you get get a boat trip to view the Pont de Normandie once the largest span cable stay bridge in the world (still second biggest but highest)

This is a lovely little port to have a stroll around. There are hundreds of small boats moored here. There are areas which are lined with bars and restaurants. In the summer it can be very busy.

It was the gem of our Normandy visit. The port is full of yachts, nice restaurants, cafes and bars. Strolling around the port is really nice. I highly recommend everybody not to miss Honfleur and its beautiful port in a Normandy trip.
