If you have been Monaco, Las Vegas then this place is a little underwhelming and a rather tired looking building, although still worth having a look whilst visiting Deauville.

The casino was built in 1912 by Georges Wydo, who took inspiration from the Opera House of the Chateau of Versailles. It's a large casino with plenty of slot machines, gaming tables and large movie theatre. Every September the casino is hosting The American Film Festival which attracts many movie stars and celebrities.

Monte Carlo is not the only Euro resort to have an Elegant casino. Deauville in Normandy France has a charming white period Casino - the Casino that features in the James Bond novel 'Casino Royale ' - should have been in the film too ! The Normandy beaches are white and sandy - longer and smoother than parts of the... More

We had a short time to visit Deauville and we wanted to see what this casino looked like. We were very disappointed at the snooty staff, shoulder to shoulder crowds of unhappy gamblers, shoving to get to the very tight slot machines. The casino wants to appear high end but to us it appeared little more than a dimly lit... More

I don't enjoy gambling. We just went there to see the casino from inside. It is a nice and classical building.

But always be prepared to walk away without winning!!! As with most French Casinos good choice of machines for as little as 1c...all now appear automated with either cards you can load with money and printed tickets for either winnings or cashing out. Can get busy at nights, but good fun for an hour and a limit you what you... More

The Barriere casinos are very select and impressive. It is always a big sensation when I go there even in different countries or regions. Very welcoming and polite staff, the salles de jeux are classy and easy to reach and to play. You can spend the time you want, nobody to bother you. The bar is very nice when you can have... More

Walked over only to find out I needed to run back to hotel for passports Reasonably nice but many gambling were VERY CASUALLY dressed (at least not bathing suits). The staff was not particularly friendly. Slow bar service. Our friends ate in the better restaurant and were not impressed. We left after promptly losing € and ate downtown.

There is nothing on the casino website that says you need a passport to enter the casino, so I could not properly evaluate the gaming tables, cuisine, quality of cocktails, etc. I will base my "terrible" review on the security staff who were humorless and emotionless. They were like speaking to a choir of robots. When I told them there... More
