This was how we started the first day of our war memorial tour of France. It was a great way to refresh my memory of the history. It took us all day but was very helpful.

We spent time all over the Normandy coast but it is always helpful to see things first hand. Maps, tanks, guns, shows....... you can find it all here and get a good grasp of what happened and who was here.

The museum did very well on early times but the part that we wanted, from the time of William the Conqueror to present day was missing. Perhaps it is being polished up.

One gets a sense of real unity between the Allied Forces and the bravery of the soldiers and leaders. It was a great experience and well worth the trip out to... More

The picture above of the twisted gun is not in front of the Normandy Museum--rather it is in front of the Memorial Peace Museum in Caen. Please make the change so you do not give readers any incorrect information. thanks
