This is a great way to get a background on the beaches and areas of conflict during D-day and WWII. There is plenty to see as you walk along a spiral that takes you to the lower level. Lots of visuals. It is a pretty building and has a cafe and a sizable gift shop. There is also a second... More

There are actually several different places to visit, an exhibition centre, an outdoor park for children. Our children enjoyed the fact to be in a castle, they loved the park with the slides and climbing stuffs, they escalated the... More

One cannot fathom the effort by the "kids" that landed here. The museum and surround historical sites are truly breath taking,,,,,,,,,I could go on, but you have to walk it yourself........

Here you'll learn about chapters of history of the 20th century, from pre-WWII to the Cold War - puts it all in perspective, with a Frrench twist on things. Very interesting and informative. Nice WWII section adds to that of the main Caen museum. Worth a visit. Enjoy...

Beautifully presented local history museum. Starting back in the early bronze age with exhibits of ancient coins, the museum moves through the ages. The museum how industry and life in Normandy changed over the ages, and has loads of interesting exhibits. There's great explanations everywhere, but only in French. Very affordable entry fee at €5.50

Normandy is one of the most emotional places I have ever been to. If you are an American and patriotic, this is a must see. In addition it is in beautiful location. Rich with history of WWII it is time well spent going to visit.
