The museum gives a nice overview of the history of Normandy, beginning in the stone age. It's situated in the castle which adds to the impact.

Feel the weapons , walk past the photos and dioramas of the d-day landings 6euros to enter , well worth ,remembering the sacrifice the allies made in capturing this town and surrounding areas once they got off the beaches, a well kept gem of a, place although small , and a short walk to the war graves across the road

A very interesting place to visit. Very educational. The place its self is beautiful. Once you are standing there, and you look out at the horizon and get thinking of everything that happened, and that you are there, it is a humbling experience. A must if you like war sites.

Told all I needed to know. Some great pictures of what happened in June of 1944. Some good war equipment to look at and photograph and it made you think that all those people died for our freedom today.

Easy 15 minute train ride to Bayeux from Caen. Small town, easy to walk, lots of things dating back to medieval ages.

I'd recommend a tour of all the D Day beaches and as many museums as they can fit. We spent a week and tried to see as much as we could, making history come alive. You only then realise what a sacrifice our ancestors made for us.

Someone recommended we go to this museum and we were glad we did. The displays are well done and we felt we learned a lot. It is worth the time to go.

This is a great museum that in an artful engaging, way explains the causes of the world wars and how the people of Normandy lived through them. The artifacts of daily and military life are fascinating, the German bunker sobering (although it is pretty well scrubbed of the sense of the men who operated there). The American Garden is worth...
