Beautifully presented local history museum. Starting back in the early bronze age with exhibits of ancient coins, the museum moves through the ages. The museum how industry and life in Normandy changed over the ages, and has loads of interesting exhibits. There's great explanations everywhere, but only in French. Very affordable entry fee at €5.50

This museum is very well done. There are four sections: before the war, during the war, after the war and then a section on the cold war. Primarily done in graphics and film the museum leads you down and in a circle to see the displays. The audio guide helps greatly. If you have mobility problems you may find the... More

As is recommend as one of the interest points to visit in Normandy, my family and me visited this museum on a shining day. The museums displays historical local objects, including those of the Battle in Normandy in 1944. There was also documentary in French with English subtitle or vice versa (depending on the time of showing) at the end... More

Doesn't take too long and was a good value. Beautiful setting with the Chateau. Was a Neatheral exhibit going on while we were there.

Normandy is one of the most emotional places I have ever been to. If you are an American and patriotic, this is a must see. In addition it is in beautiful location. Rich with history of WWII it is time well spent going to visit.

A fairly small museum, and some time periods are not well covered, but it is interesting and worth going to, especially since I assume anyone going to Caen is going to see the castle anyway!

You can learn a lot about Normandy in a short time here. It start way back in the stone ages and gives you a good idea of the past and present.

This was a great museum. It's well done & very interesting. The underground section used by the Germans was especially unusual to see. We definitely recommend taking a day from Paris to do the Normandy tour. It is well worth your time.
