I'd always wanted to see the Bayeux Tapestry & this museum is just excellent. Timed tickets are designed to keep visitors moving cleanly through the light controlled exhibit, & the language specific headphones are very informative. An EXCELLENT museum with a very good shop - far more than I'd hoped for! More

I am not a museum person. I like to look at things at my own pace which is normally fast! You get a listening device and I was skeptical at first because the recording describes each of the different panels in the tapestry. But it was very interesting and went relatively quickly. The tapestry itself is amazing. Make sure to... More

If you're getting a bit tired of all the D-Day museums (which are also special and interesting, don't get me wrong!) this is a different period in history that also deserves some attention. The museum is nice and informative and the tapestry really impressive. More

We arrived at 8:45am and the museum opens at 9:00am. I would advise you to do this as there were many large groups after us and with the audio tour you have to follow the line through the tapestry guide tour. More

We loved this museum and it was a great intro to the history of the area. I loved that it was in an old seminary as well. The staff were friendly and helpful as well. More

Have been 3 times over the years with friends and family and is an excellent place to visit particulary on a rainy day when walking around Bayeux itself is not so inviting More

It is worthwhile to familiarize yourself ahead of time with the general history behind the Tapestry so you can understand the story being told. Patrons are given a free audioguide (in a choice of many languages), but the audioguide keeps you moving along at a very brisk pace. Hit the pause button frequently so that you can take your time... The Bayeux tapestry is wonderfully displayed, its full 70 metres in a curving glass case (so you don't feel tired just looking at the length of it), with an excellent audio accompaniment. It is a brilliantly worked embroidery, its colours and effect as striking now as it must have been 1000 years ago. The Battle of Hastings comes alive as... More

This work of art is spectacular. To get a more detailed over view of the Tapestry, view the film and the museum first before seeing the Tapestry to have a better understanding of the detail and story of the Tapestry's meaning. Before viewing the Tapestry you will be given a very easy to use head set that details the different... More

Amazing to see this hand-made embroidery that is over 800 years old and still tells a fascinating story. Good audio guide and background displays More
