Nice museum

This tells the story from the French and British perspective. Nice visit. The exhibits are well done and the films are worth the visit.

Much bigger and much more informative than I thought it was going to be. Really well presented in chronological order this place has everything you want to find out about the D-Day landings. The film, whilst a bit glossed in favour of the allies (the allied bombing of Caen and loss of civilian life is not mentioned) is well worth... More

This museum has many interesting exhibits, including maps, weapons, uniforms, and explains well the challenges faced by the Allied troops in the invasion of the Normandy beaches. It also shows how desperately the allied forces needed this to succeed. I was fascinated by all that I learned there. If you go to Normandy do not miss visiting this museum.

Brilliantly laid out and very comprehensive. A very moving experience when you look at the death and devastation but a story that needs told and repeated. Interesting to note the comment earlier out kids and not very interactive. My wife has taught all ages from 5-18 and reminded me that you don't need buttons for kids to press to make... More

The museum contains artefacts from all sides that were fighting. It is very unbiased and it there solely to inform. It is amazing to see the weapons and artillery, uniforms and personal belonging that have been kept so beautifully intact for us to further educate ourselves with. Their are photographs and videos played inside the museum which explain a lot... More

This is the best Museum I have visited for those with an interest in the Battle of Normandy. It has lots of artefacts, tanks, weapons, uniforms. The film shows and photo displays are both informative and balanced. It was very reasonably priced at 6 Euros.

Lots of interesting facts and information, certainly worth a visit. Even my young children (7&5) showed an interest and asked lots of questions. Suggest you watch the short film at the start, sets the scene.

This is a great museum. It gives you everything you'd ever want to know about the invasion. It's in both English and French. I have to say, though, that you should be prepared to read a lot at the museum. It could use a little more interactivity, but know that little kids or attention deficit adults might have a hard... D-Day-obsessed self and son visited many, many D-Day sites and musuems during a recent visit to Normandy. Almost every site has a museum, and they all tell basically the same story: D-Day. A few were excellent (Utah Beach, American Cemetery visitor center), and a few were atrocious (Omaha Beach). This particular museum is just OK. If you're in Bayeux and... More
