Entry €7 per person - although show Eurostar tickets and you get 2 for the price of 1. Visited early on a Wednesday afternoon and it was not very busy, giving the chance to appreciate the exhibits at a leisurely pace.

People say that the museum is the second (after Louvre) in term of number of visitors, but seem to me that it can not compare to Louvre. If you really love arts, wait for the first Sunday each month, then you can enter for free, with also the audio guide.

We began our visit in the basement to view the medieval and ancient world collection. The signposts to the basement were unclear, but once we found the stairs, we descended into the dark basement. The first painting we saw was lit from below in such a manner that we could not see any detail. We then looked at a Greek... More

We like to visit art galleries and museums but on our first visit here found it was closed. On the second try, after going in (and expecting it to be free as in England) found it to be fairly expensive. No entry prices are displayed outside. We only had 2 hours until our Eurostar return so gave it a miss.

I have to say that I liked the building more than the exhibits, but I'm not a great fan of renaissance art and religious paintings. Saved for me by the couple of Picasso and Chagall. Go after 6.30 and it is only 4 euros. Worth going for the building if you're not interested in the art.

This was a little harder to find than we expected but was very interesting. A very excitingly designed new extension to the rear was not available to visit, which was disappointing, but the content of the old building was fascinating. They give a portable commentary i-phone/head set as part of the admission fee. the only problem was that not all... More

A wonderful museum building with great collections. Please visit the city models room with scale models of many regional towns in the reign of Louis XIV.

In truth, I am not a great art gallery person. I tend to get cultural overload after an hour or so and then wander around not really taking anything in. And there is a lot to see at the Palais des Beaux Arts. Obviously it depends on taste but, for me, the entrance fee was worth it to see just... More
