I'm a big fan of good art museums and was very impressed with this Palais. It was quiet when we went; while throngs of people shopped the sales and sweated, we relaxed in a climate controlled, gorgeous museum. A good provincial museum. Particularly interesting the Flemish/Dutch collections. It is advertised as the second French fine arts museum, after the Louvre. It is maybe true, but the distance is very important. Guide Michelin gives it "three stars", which seems to me very exaggerated. more

Great place, lousy openeing hours! Pay it a visit as the building alone is worth the journey. once inside the art work is world class and not to be missed. more
