When on a sunny day many people in Lille goes in this park of the citadelle, so you see many people with childeren and some young people doing yoging. Its not advisable to go biking in this park, but better do a walk, the zoo its not advisable since its small and very touristic. The citadelle offers itself not much,... More

Had a really nice walk around the Citadel before going to the zoo nearby. A very pleasant way to spend some of your time in Lille, well worth a visit and the tired feet and legs afterwards. Lots of people jogging and walking around it but it didn't feel crowded so was still a peaceful way to spend a couple... More

You need to book a week in advance if you want to go inside. We didn't know this until we got to Lille so could only walk around it. The walk was very nice. It had been raining quite heavily so it was a bit muddy however it was a nice overall. Would recommend if you want a nice stroll... More

This all adds to Lille's charm - a lovely place to walk over the ramparts and around the Citadelle. No matter the time of year it is always a pleasure to visit.

Not too far from the centre and the place for a great walk around the park. This is undergoing a revamp and so is not at its best at present. There is a zoo ( open in summer)and you can hear the animals and see them on parts of the walk around the citadel's walls. The citadel is a barracks... More

Masterpiece of Vauban. Can only be visited on reservation a few days a year, since the Citadel itself is now a military headquarter of the French army and NATO. Though even walking around the Citadel on the 'Voie des Combattants', gives a good impression of the genius Vauban was and the grandeur of this building.
