First visit here offered us a lady who may well have got out of bed that morning on the wrong side, as she gave us the impression that we were a bit tiresome (and we only wanted to buy tickets to the City Tour bus!) Second visit yielded a very pleasant young man, who went out of his way to... More

We arrived in Lille for the first visit via Eurostar from London. We visited the Tourist Office and they gave us lots of local information and a map of the town. During our 3 night stay all the info came in very useful and the map was clear and easy to follow. They also gave us inormattion on exchange offices... More

We went on the City Tour (bus). Queue at desk for tickets but told us to take the tour and pay on return! Driver was at first reluctant, but let us on in the end. Good tour with English commentary provided by earphones, which you can keep. Glad we went on it as we had done enough walking to get... More

The Braderie is on the first weekend of September each year, In 2014 we had a great time looking around the 12 Kim's of stalls and picked some bargains on the way. Be prepared to walk a long way in amongst thousands of people and when your hungry all the brasseries etc dish up Mussels and Chips. We had great... More

The Lille tourist office is near the Grand Place in a beautiful old building. If you go out the door and turn left, you see that this wall is a memorial to those killed in war in the Flanders area. Helpful staff, lots of maps etc and a small shop with souvenirs.

Look for the big old building - like a church in Place Rihours - or you will miss it. Very useful and informative.

Very helpful girl, but she cannot read a map and managed to give us the wrong directions - twice.########

There was not a great deal of constructive information available. A few leaflets were scattered about but they were not really the sort of thing your average tourist would want to see. It was all rather "bitty". Simple pamphlets on what to see and do, where to eat and so on were not readily available. The booklet about Lille -... More

Lots of information and we brought Tour bus tickets (11 Euro's each) - one hour ride around the whole of Lille.
