Pleasantly surprised - monkeys, meerkats, turtles, owls.... To name a few. Well worth a visit even without children. Very good for families

good free zoo to kill an hour in, don't expect a major tourist attraction zoo, just a little quaint surprise in the citadelle

We spent a very enjoyable few hours at this little zoo in Lille. It was free to enter so we were not expecting very much... how wrong we were. Spotlessly clean and plenty of animals to see. I especially liked the Red panda, who popped out to say good morning as we arrived at their cage! The meerkats were very... More

I was suprised to see that this mid-size zoo is free of charge. It is located near the citadel and park a 15 minutes walk from vieux-lille. It is a midsize zoo - completely renewed in 05/2015, all facilities are to the newest standards. You can see that the animals love their surroundings. Take 1,5 hour to visit this zoo.... More

This is a small free zoo very close to the centre of Lille. There are not many animals, but it is set within nice grounds and surrounded by a nice play park for kids to go to when you have (quickly) completed your zoo visit. The walk to the nearest Metro and centre of town is about 10 minutes, and... More

We walked across to the citadel and then found the free city Zoo. it was a nice walk around a good mixture of animals and worth the time, we could not believe it was free.

This zoo is aimed at kids who want to see animals, while this is fine in itself, we were swamped with strollers and parents who let their children roam free, which is really annoying. There are three 'areas', one with monkeys and birds, one with rhino's and other animals, and one with antelopes and big rodents, there is also a... More

Zoo could be stretching it a bit with the main attractions being 2 rhinos and not much more big wild life apart from a few zebras a few monkeys a couple of hogs and cages of birds a couple of giant tortoise , set out to stay at a stretch a couple of hours tops . Worth seeing but don't... More
