Ok but could be better

The ferries from dunkerque to Dover are better then their other route from Calais, customer service is ok as is the food I think things have improved in the last year or so

The ferry terminal at Dunkurque has so many faults! For one, it is hard to drive to; the road signs giving conflicting advice, and the sat nav took us on a very smelly backroads tour of local oil refineries. When we finally arrived (after 20 minutes of trying not to breathe in), lorries were blocking the roundabout to enter the... More

On my visit the Ferry Terminal building at Dunkerque was appalling. The male toilets did not give the impression of having been cleaned for a very long time, both towel dispensers were broken as was one of the sinks. The female toilets were apparently also "disgraceful". The bins were overflowing both at the door to the terminal and inside the... More

We traveled over the May half term holiday so the ferry was full and paying the extra for the Sea View Lounge was well worth it for the peace and quiet!! It did seem that the ferry was very slow and took over two and a half hours both way but we were tucked away. Unfortunately on the return trip... More

We travelled with DFDS to Dunkirk for the first time to see the Little Ships. We were disappointed by the ferry as the passenger areas had dirty seats and the cooked breakfast food was awful with uncooked sausages and cold toast - in fact it reminded me of the food we used to see on Cross Channel ferries in the... We tend to shop around for the cheapest ferries, usually Dover to Dunkerque is a good option. The boats are great with friendly staff and good on board facilities. Going from Dover is fine as you just drive through the ferry port at Dunkerque. Returning is a different matter. The ferry port is awful and the terminal building has just... More

from another review here I got the impression Dunkirk was a pretty little harbour town and the dfds ferry would be quicker and easier than calais. So, the ferry is excellent. Good company, big comfortable ship, good shopping and more space than P&O which always seems to close off areas of an evening. But Dunkirk was frightful. I made the... More

The terminal facilities are not existent! It is a filthy building with broken drink vending machines. Forget a good cup of coffee before sailing off. The staff on board is very friendly, the cleanliness of the ferry is very good.

I've travelled with DFDS Numerous times, always on this route. The cleanliness of the ferries have always been good. The price is great for the service given.

We spent a nice day on the beach at Dunkerque. It is hard to imagine how different it looked during the war as today it has a beautiful promenade and cafes.
