Whenever I take the car to and from France I travel between Dunkirk and Dover on DFDS ferries. Please note that the Norfolkline business was acquired by DFDS a few years ago. DFDS ferries are generally punctual and provide a clean and efficient service. I always travel this way. Please note that the terminal facilities in Dunkirk are basic but... More

I have never been in such a dirty public area as the ferry port at Dunkerque. The place needs knocking down. The toilets were not fit for human use. The drinks machines didn't work at all, not one of them. We would advise you take your own snacks and drinks for the car wait there.

Award winning? We joked that the award must have been for sullen staff, dirty toilets, grubby tables, nobody to offer advice on car decks, poor signage for finding the way. Overpriced catering. No cutlery. "We don't do cutlery" paper napkin dispensers empty. Lots of young students having to sit on the floor for the journey. Cheap and cheerful can be... More

we travelled on this ferry once and never again! Having dined on board and later visiting the "ladies" felt quite horrified to see the person who had served our meal in the same uniform/clothes cleaning the toilets!! The cost of the ticket was the same as other cross channel ferries, who seem to be able to afford to employ kitchen... More

We waited for ever to board. The so called cafe was just machines and toilets worse than i have seen in many third world countries. Ferry was chockers and i could find nowhere to escape screaming kids or smokers. Had the worst cup of tea in the world. Tannoy was unintelligible. Apart from that it was great!

Very poor service when entering the port along with poor signage to get you there.. Slow checking in -long queues , poor facilties in building only vending machines. Yet again ferry delays - 2 hours late - no screens to tell you all switched of- a right S+++ hole. Ferry also 30 mins late leaving Dover, Food on board ghastly... More

DFDS have always been our main choice when crossing the channel. The boats have always been clean and the staff have always been helpful however Dunkerque port really is a let down for DFDS. The terminal building is deserted, The only members of staff work in the Reception area and the Ticket Sales area. The toilets were in a disgusting... More

Norfolkline was taken over by DFDS a few years ago. The ferry terminal and the ferrys have sadly deteriorated under DFDS. The toilets in Dunkerque ferry port are a total disgrace.
