We spent a nice day on the beach at Dunkerque. It is hard to imagine how different it looked during the war as today it has a beautiful promenade and cafes.

Reasonably helpful service on loading but that is where it ended. I went straight up to the restaurant looking forward to a hearty breakfast but I was sorely disappointed. The eggs were undercooked - the whites were still clear and gelatinous, and the rest of the breakfast was similarly bad. To add insult, there was only one till open so... More

I have no complain regarding the ferry service and food. My complain is regarding the shop. I went to to cashier with 2 cosmetic products. There was an offer sign of a free cosmetic bag when buying two products from this particular brand. However, the cashier didn't know anything about this. Furthermore, the price at the till was higher than... More

We travel very regularly to Belgium and usually use Norfolkline (now DFDS). The boats are simple yet functional. They are in the process of renovating a lot of the fleet so hopefully they'll improve with time. One BIG bugbear - the check-in process is AWFUL at Dunkirk. It can take 60 minutes to clear customs and immigration after you've checked... More

Good quality modern ships with good facilities. We use the Belgium Luxembourg route avoiding peage to get to the south of France so convenient for this. Been regulars for some time and would have rated 5 a couple of years ago but changes to the upper deck restaurant and first class lounge have lowered service. The restaurant only opens now... More

In the past 10 months I've taken my car across to Europe on DFDS ferries several times and with one small but they've been brilliant! I've paid the £10 for first class which gave me priority boarding and disembarkation so I've been miles up t he road before the trucks and other vehicles have left the ship. I've also had... More

At this stage we have used DFDS maybe 4 or 5 times and with their own vessels we never had a problem. Coming from Germany the slightly longer journey time than Calais ferries is compensated by the shorter drive and very straight forward and relatively quiet port. We didnt have a meal on board, but simple stuff like a bowl... More

We travel to Germany quite often and find the Dover To Dunkerque the best for us a lot less hassle than Calais and less miles on our route the DFDS ships are comfortable there is free wifi onboard but it does not always work, we have not eaten on board the ships but the coffee is always fine, like all... We missed our scheduled sailing because of traffic but were put on the next one, no problem, no extra cost. What can we say? Better than flying - no baggage checks or restrictions, not as comfortable as Eurostar but overall very convenient. Very well organised. The only downside is the food. You can't expect 5-star cuisine when so many have... More

Second time now travelling Dover-Dunkirk with DFDS. Weather/crossing v smooth both times so I consider myself lucky! Travelling with two children (3&5), facilities on board for kids is great. Soft-play area on the ships kept them occupied although would recommend making sure your children wear socks in it - the carpet near to and in the soft play area smelt... More
