On the whole I love going to the opera but here I am always disapointed by the places available. Unless you book on the first day of ticket opening the view is often poor and the stqff are unable to advise whether the scenes will be visible or not. I prefer The Halle au Grain.

The outside of this building is striking and many people just bypass the visit inside which is worth at least 20 minutes and it is FREE ! Go on the second floor to visit the murals and read about the history of the place . Really interesting !

Capitole Square is The square of Toulouse. Built by the "capitouls", the governing magistrates of the city from 1190, the Capitole hosts the city hall and a classic Italian-style theater. The oldest parts of the existing buildings are from the 16th century, but the façade was built in 1750. The Square itself is lovely, especially with sunshine or at sunset... More

The Theatre du Capitole faces la Place du Capitole, thus the name. It presents a beautiful classical facade. The Place du Capitole is the venue for many festivals. We attended the Occitane Festival, where several of the vendors refused to believe that I was an American because I was speaking to them in French.

Toulouse city center can be visited on food (no car accepted anymore). I am sure a desaster for the business but very good forthe visitors. you can walk arround on foot and you don't get any polution (cars). The town hall located on the Capitole square must be visited. Interested rooms and the building itself is worst seeing. Two hours... More

We saw Un Bal Masque here last month. It's a beautiful theatre with good acoustics. We sat in the way up seats (Paradise) and had a good view but the air con was woefully lacking.

Le Capitole is an imposing city hall dominating the main square in Toulouse. Open from 8.30 to 19.00, it offers a series of impressive reception rooms where civic events and weddings take place. The walls and ceilings of all the rooms are lavishly decorated with artwork largely from the late 19th century by local artists, showing events from Toulouse history.... More
