I have been to the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Lourdes twice and have been dismayed by the number of reviewers who are all upset about the "blatant capitalism" going on around the Sanctuary. I say to these people, ignore them! They're just poor slobs trying to make a buck! The reason for going to Lourdes is to go to... More

We went from end November till early December. It was low peak season, very few people there compared to when we went during spring/summer. We preferred it with lesser people, a good chance to meditate. No queue at the holy water fountain which was fantastic. The church is amazing with its strong structure and beautiful walls and windows. The paths... More

Even though hundreds if not thousands of tourists and pilgrims visit each day, it still retains a peacefulness and inspires everyone to believe in miracles. The grounds are lovingly maintained. I hope to return someday.

Lourdes is a large campus with a number of churches and sanctuaries. Allow plenty of time to appreciate the beauty of the Basilica of St. Pius (huge!), Basilica of the Immaculate Conception, Notre Dame Chapel, Bernadette's Crypt, grotto and grounds. The Lourdes Candlelight procession is beautiful. Excellent photos of the church can be taken from the bridge over the river.

A must visit for all the faithfuls to reflect ourselves and strengthen our faith. It was indescriable feelings and all I can say is that, I am so thankful to God for guiding me there and great appreciation to Jesus and Mother Mary for not giving up on me. I believe angels or God (winged and non-winged) were with me... More

The Sanctuary makes you feel calm and make you feel happy for what you have. There is a information centre near one of the gate. You can get the time table of events from there.

The Sanctuary at Lourdes is absolutely a must-visit in one's lifetime. The grotto is the best-especially at night and the stations of the cross are not to be missed. Skip the English speaking Mass at 9 and go to the French one held in the crypt at the same time-you're in France after all and it's definitely the better option... More
