As I had seen the "Song of Bernadette" many times since I was a child, I could not resist a chance to visit this shrine. The cathedral was beautiful and serene and we were so pleased to be able to see the crypt where St Bernadette was buried. I did not realize how young she was and how she suffered.... More

I think I've got that right! I'm pretty certain that as I went from top to bottom, I went into three separate churches — one underneath the other. Looked at from the back, the Basilica at Lourdes, perched atop an outcrop of rock is immediately identifiable from all those pictures as I don't think there is another church quite like... More

Come Thee, Come Thee, All Ye Faithful, empty your pockets here to partake in a 'miracle' that took place some time back. And if you still have some money left, consider that another miracle, and maybe you will qualify for sainthood and a large picture in the underground basilica that is lined with all such saints who have been given... What can you dislike about Lourdes. Everything is geared towards the care of the sick. People care about each other and help each other.

The sanctuary is very beautiful. The underground church is huge but didn't feel holy. I attended the French mass in the main basilica which is very nice. The grotto has a very holy feeling to it. The candlelit processions are well worth attending. The whole site has an amazing feeling after the procession especially around the grotto and the candle... More

We traveled together to Lourdes as a Catholic and what has been described as a heathen. This review is written by the heathen. This is an interesting place to visit and I am certainly glad that I have been. The site is obviously dominated by the Church and they are very beautiful, there is a short queue to walk through... Everyone should visit Lourdes once to experience what it's like as its difficult to put into words. My wife did say once though it's like heaven on earth. Once you get past all the shops the sanctuary is an amazing place.

my parents had their 50th wedding anniversary and as they wished to visit Lourdes, my sister and I gave them this present. I was skeptic at first but when we arrived there, the place is magical. Very tranquil and very well organized. The sanctuary is magnificent and truly a place of worship. All those reading this review and are hesitating... More

You will feel a different kind of strange holiness in this place. People all-around seem so nice and friendly. There are plenty of volunteers and guides to lead you to the right places. I enjoyed most the Holy Bath experience. There are afternoon and evening processions. Don't miss it.
