There are two things to see at this church-- the peaceful cloister and the set of polychrome statues inside the church. This church whilst beautiful and worth a visit is unfortunately overshadowed by its much larger and more famous neighbor -- the Cathedrale down the street. However it has its own virtues and is well worth a visit. There are... More

The 13th century polychrome statues in very fine condition make this church worth the visit. The cloisters are very peaceful and smell wonderfully of growing herbs.

We return here on every visit to Albi. The tranquillity is boundless as time disappears. We appreciate the care with which the cloister gardens are cared for. The guides are helpful and friendly. Always a wonderful experience to seek out and soak up.

Set within the fascinating medieval heart of Albi, this 11th-century cloister is a haven of tranquillity. Entry is free of charge, and if you want to you can just sit on a wall and contemplate, perhaps imagining successive generations of monks chanting and praying in the magnificent church, or hard at work in the herb garden over a period of... Unfortunately, much of the carving has been damaged with age and the parts that were restored do not convey the extent of the original beauty of the stonework.

Beautiful views of the river and the town from the garden walls. A good place to munch a sandwich and pause to smell the flowers. Some great photo ops.

Instead of the quiet expected of a cloisters our visit was rather spoilt by a group of noisy students. However, this couldn't take away the pleasure of seeing so many interesting herbs and edible plants.

This church is lovely and peaceful. The cloisters are also lovely. Although obviously not as imposing as the Cathedral Ste Cecile, for me it would be more conducive for praying, as, apart from a service times, there appear to be very few visitors. The church is is well worth the visit.

We bumped into this place when wandering around in Albi old city. We love this corner: the cloître is indeed very impressive and the gardens are very pleasant to stay around. Wonderful playou if you want to find a place for lunch picnic. Never miss it.
