This is a quite large indoor flea market (held inside the Metz Expo, about a 15 minute drive from the city center). I would recommend it mainly for furniture shopping... we found a very diverse selection, high quality and really, really, really good prices if you're a hard bargainer. The artwork and decorating accessories were much less interesting to me.... More

Attended the Metz Flea Market in Feb2009, located inside the Metz Expo building, plenty of parking. Stayed at the nearby (no frills) Bonsai Hotel about 2 blocks away, ask the attendant where the Metz flea market is (ou est le marché aux puces de Metz?) Dogs allowed at the hotel & the flea market, we brought our Collie, no problem.... More

It's true that this market is a little more expensive then Tongeren, Belgium or other markets in Germany or Holland. The reason is because the items are French and French items have a higher demand and value in the US and abroad - especially in comparison to German, Dutch and Belgium antiques. The market is large and the prices are... More

Just got back from the Aug 6 Metz flea market, and I agree with the writer of the 7/05 review. We had heard such great things about the market, and were very disappointed. We also left without buying anything. The reason: as compared to Tongren, very high prices and not as many dealers. Not sure if there is a better... More

I went to the Metz flea market on 7/16/05. There were 5 rooms of vendors there selling lots of "old" things, but everything was so overpriced it was ridiculous! I went with my husband and a friend of mine and her husband and we all walked out without buying a single thing! If you want to go to a market... More

Great flea market, rivals that of Tongeren in Belgium. Everything from antique furniture to china/pottery to fabrics to mint condition Starsky et Hutch pencil boxes. It's not outdoors, it's in a collection of buildings called the Technopole on the southeast side of town. Easy to reach by car. Cash and carry only. Temperamental ATM on-site. Lousy on-site restaurant. More
