Great example of garden construction

Well laid-out and -maintained gardens. Other areas of the city appeared a bit neglected, but there was work going on here and it was a delightful environment.

Went to the gardens after the Cathedral, because it is number 5 on the Blue walking route. Watched the fountains play, sat and had a packed lunch. Walked amongst the flowers which I guess will change with the seasons. Placed above the river that you can look down upon.

We went into the gardens after visiting the cathedral. This was right up my street. Beautifully laid out and with degree of informality I found refreshing. The gardens seem to go on and on and we found a shady bench to eat our baguette lunches, along with a lot of younger couples, some quite amourous!! From here you can meander... More

A very nice park nearby the centre of Limoges - you just want to sit and read your favorite book in this well maintained park, under the shade of the hundred years trees... Better to come in summer than winter - winter go to the museum nearby!

The landscaping and water features are first class. Take time to stroll around the different aspects of each of the garden layouts - of which there are many. Plenty of seating in the sun or shade for a picnic to take in the surroundings. Do not miss the museums and plan to spend the day there.

This botanical garden is set in the grounds of the old bishops' residence. The buildings themselves have been renovated and now house the fine art museum. The gardens are exceptional - one of a kind specimens of rare plants and trees, native plants, special displays throughout the year. There are several differents areas where you can also find a fountain,... More
