Impressed with this place. Great to explore the rooms, catacombs beneath, outdoor theatre and the art displays. Wonderful views of bay and walked town at the base of the Pyrenees.

We visited this as were passing and had an hour to kill. Nicely planned tour taking you through the various parts if the castle. Views from the top are stunning. Lovely little art gallery buried inside one of the wings. Well worth an hour or two of your time.

Much more interesting than I thought it might be, and much more to see as well. Interesting military architecture and plenty of places/spaces to explore at your leisure as you go round getting a glimpse of most of the Chateau that gives a glimpse of its past and its design function. Very good art exhibition when we were there as... More

Great views and a great way to learn about Collioure and its history. We spent a good two hours here. There's a lot of steps and uneven surfaces so leave your buggy outside the gift shop. We were free to wonder anywhere and touch anything which was good. Definitely worth the 4 Euros each that we paid.

I did enjoy The Royal Castle. It was unfortunately a quick visit. Next time i will take my time and enjoy the great views of the bay and surrounding area.

Last summer in June we visit the castle. You have a create few over the also very nice city Collioure. If you like historic it's worth to go there. At the time we where there the castle was a little bit under construction but it doesn't harm us to much. You have to pay a smal entrance fee. You cannot... More

Impressive place, check out the French Commandos training here. It is really pretty Castle that you can tour at times. The French Seals sometimes are doing their excercises from here. Bring bread to feed the ducks.

I thought I was going to love this castle because of its stunning location and its strategic position historically. Sadly I was somewhat disappointed. As previously stated the reception was disinterested, bordering on rude (and I speak good French). We paid 3 euros each with a Patrimonie Pass. I also think that since the castle is several centuries old they... More

Visited this castle with husband and two small boys (3 and 5) and we all loved it. We only paid 2 euros each to get in (kids were free). The castle is very atmospheric, there is nothing in any of the rooms apart from an art exhibition in one or two and a giant hammer in another and this just... More

Entered reception, no other visitors there, only to be totally ignored by very grumpy looking receptionist on desk who refused to look up at us for ages. Weird. Finally she snapped out that the price was 2 euros, so bad start. Anyway, no tour on so did our own thing and wandered through the castle tunnels and rooms which took... More
