A Walk round Collioure

This castle stands over the fishing port. It is a great back drop & they have great fireworks displays in Juky.

We went here whilst in Collioure as it is cheap and keeps you occupied for about an hour. However when we arrived, there was an antiques fair going on, which slightly ruined the whole experience. There were people and antiques in almost every room, meaning the castle feels less authentic and more like a showroom. I recommend that people go... More

We enjoyed the views and the history of this Chateau. There are a fair amount of steps to climb and there is a small admission fee. We thought it was worth a stop during our visit. The views are great for photos.

We visited the town of Collioure for the first time in september 2015. The town is beautiful, colorful houses in narrow cobbled streets - just amazing. The seafront is dominated by the church and the Royal Castle, which we visited. It's like a step back in time - impressive large castle - both inside and outside. From the top outstanding... More

One problem is that the route round is confusingly signed, so I spent a lot of time walking in circles. The rooms are interesting, but it could do with more museum like things to look at. Good views from the battlements.

This castle is situated in a great position and has an interesting history. A pity that there are not indications you may read during the visit, as well as the material given at the entry does not help much to understand the location you are visiting

Had a fantastic time walking through this old castle. It was under construction while we visited, so they reduced the price which was nice. We spent about 3-4 hours slowly walking around all the rooms and outdoor spaces. You could definitely do it faster if needed, but it was just so beautiful and no shortage of photo opportunities, not only... More

This is enormous and one can easily get lost although you do get a plan guide and occasional signs showing the way to continue or exit. A lot of stairs to climb but well worth it to get to the top, brilliant views of the sea and Collioure.

I'm a castle junkie (as my poor wife knows only too well) so I have to give this place five stars. Superb piece of architecture on a great site with lovely views of ridiculously pretty Collioure. While it's well maintained it's obvious much of it isn't original, which is hardly unusual. It's a huge rabbit-warren of a place with no... More

We go to as many castles as we can. This one stands out because you finally get to go in the hidden passages you have always known were there. Very well preserved. Super way to spend a morning. Admission was a low fee.
