Words can't really express just how magical this castle is! It is absolutely wonderful! You can walk all around and explore all kinds of "nooks and crannies" . It's a wonderful place to photograph in the evening when the lights shine on the turrets. Don't miss this one!

If you want to visit an unusual place of historical significance, you absolutely must visit this famous walled city, which is just outside the city of Carcassonnne in south west France.

We arrive in evening tired hungry but we just couldn't do more. After hours of straight sleeping all night long, in the morning we went to have a croisin and a cup of tea at the closest bakery. After we start climbing the hill of what I'd say one of the coldest and windy days of my entire life the... More

This midevel city of Carcassonne is so romantic. It's beautiful and filled with plenty of shops and places to eat. Beware of closing times. A lot of places were not open which was disappointing. Definitely recommended

The first sight of this magnificent walled city was a "wow" moment. So impressive, gorgeous at night with the floodlights. The walled city has lots of restaurants and shops, we particularly enjoyed the local artisans shop. We took the audio tour of the Chateau and Remparts and it is well worth the cost.

This was a nice place to visit for a few hours but nothing to plan an entire day or more for. There are some neat old parts and some history but as a whole it is too updated and commercialized for our taste. We would not go very far out of our way for this but if you are in... More

We stayed within walking distance of the city and enjoyed the evening life, restaurants etc. All good to be honest! Take one of the river trips or even drive to the coast too. Great ambience and food!!
