It's a great place to see! It's so worth driving there for 5h :) Go there both at night and during the day and you'll be surprised how different it looks. Romantic lights and barely any tourists at night, so you can explore everything without being pushed and take pictures without other hundreds of people on the background. And during... More

Entering the gates to the stonewalls and paved, narrow streets bring you back to long forgotten times if you can look past the crowd of tourists during summer. We spent an afternoon there, plenty of nice shops and small cafès. Time and money flies, however, we really enjoyed it a lot. Go if you have the time, you wom't regret... More

Very nice old city, a lot of things to see, amazing views and unique atmosphere. There are a lot of tourist shops and restaurants, it is pretty crowded but still very pleasant for a walk and definitely worth the visit.

we were holidaying in Ariege midi Pyrenees when we chose to visit this walled town. We parked our car very easily in a free car park at the base of the road up to the old town. It was such a hot day and it's all uphill, as we were walking up there were many more car parks, but not... More

Very interesting. A beatiful medieval city. If you are interested in history, namely medieval history you just go to Carcassonne and visit the medieval city and its castle. Although partes were created by Violet-le-Duc, its still sorte a visit.

Interesting and educating, though pretty small ( in size not to compare with Toledo for instance), lots of restaurants and shops. Crowded in summer!

A beautiful city. So pretty and so much to see. A bit too many touristy shops but otherwise amazing.

I love La Cite! I've been here a few times now and I still get excited when I know we're coming back to visit. It's strange to think that people actually live within the city walls too so it's not just one big tourist attraction, it's a proper residential place as well! Lovely narrow medieval streets. Lots of places to... More

We took the local bus to the Medieval City from the port in Carcassonne for 2 euro a ticket. It was my second visit to this city and I loved it more than the first time. There were many people but it added to the excitement of being in such a historical place. There are lots of restaurants to choose... More

La Cite was on my list of things to see traveling from Agde to Andorra. I can understand why it is such a popular tourist attraction. It is incredible! Definitely a place where you imagination can run wild. What it must have been like in the medical days. Then modern day reality. Thousands of tourists packing the narrow streets. Too... More
