Hi there From July 16 until the 23rd we did the Castelnaudary to Homps leg for a week. I can't say enough of the wonderful holiday that it was. Leafy, green, quiet and then when you got into the busier places - what great fun! We met some lovely people along the way "fellow boaties" and forged some lovely friendships.... More

Four of us hired a Locaboat 'Penichette' to travel from Negra to Argens-Minervois over a week in early October and enjoyed every minute of it. A few minor glitches but overall the week went just as planned and we even had unseasonably warm weather as we glided down the Canal du Midi. We arrived in Negra all provisioned-up and ready... More

Using Ralph and Pixie's guidebook gives one much more than navigational points. It highlights the off-canal sites, the intrigue of winding village roads, the best places to eat, to buy bread, and to meet the locals. They have truely given canal boaters a gift of both their experience and their knowledge. More

A trip on the beautiful Canal du Midi from Beziers to Carcassonne on the 'Emma' provided a delightful respite from reality. Liz and Rene, the owners, with a crack crew are there to cater to your dreams. The canal route offers a buffet of changing views and events to maintain your interest at a leisurely pace. It is interesting to... More

We have just returned from 2 weeks cruising the Canal du Midi from Port Cassafiers to Castelnaudary early September 2011. A perfect time, the canal was busy but still plenty of room, and the weather was perfect. Three couples hired a 42 foot Royal Classique which was very comfortable, although it would have been better if the 2 back cabins... More

3 of us 60 somethings decided to bike from Toulouse to Sete on the Med along the Canal du Midi towpaths. It was very successful and great fun and we had a great sense of achievement from doing it. We learned quite a lot and I would offer the following advice: 1. We flew Easyjet to Toulouse and the £25... More

The owners, Liz (from Ireland) and her husband Rene, together with their two crew members made this a delightful experince. The difference between this barge and others is just how much of herself Liz puts into every meal; how accommodating she is to people's preferences; what superb food she produced from her tiny galley; what genuine friendliness and what good... This year we decided on a cycling holiday around this area. Flew into Carcassonne and hired bikes from Melo Velo in Paraza near Lezignan owned by Phil and Maria - who offer excellent bikes and give excellent advice and pick you up from the railway station or even go to deliver bikes to your hotel! We pretty well stuck to... More

We hired a canal boat from Locaboat and motored majestically from Negra (near Toulose) down to Latte (near Montpellier) over a two week holiday. Holiday was fantastic, especially the first half (on the canal du midi). The latter part was also grat but simply couldn't measure up to the first part. Plenty of locks the go through but after 2... My wife, another couple and I just completed our first LeBoat trip down the Yonne River and Canal Nivenais from Migennes to Chatel Censoir. It was an incredible experience and the boat performed without issue. We started in Migennes where Dominique helped us get started and proved to be an outstanding host and ended in Chatel Censoir where Mike helped... More
