We went on the Canal Du Midi, with La Compagnie des Bateaux du Midi, for a full day cruise with lunch 49 Euros each. The trip itself was great, going up through the locks and watching the beautiful Archways of plane trees overhanging the river. However as they did not provide an English audio we missed all of the commentary!... More

This canal is a really great thing as a French national treasure, but it costs their government a lot of money. Do it while you can. Great time with le Boat, but recommend schedule early. We saved the price of the travel insurance by having the boat and planes arranged months ahead. Le Boat cared for us very well. Debbie... More

We hired a Vision SL 3 cabin boat from Le Boat at Castelnaudary for 14 days ending at Port Cassafieres. It was ample time for us to explore the wonderful towns we passed on the canal. We even had time to go to Narbonne for a couple of nights. The boat was great with each couple having their own room... More

I have in the past spent thousands of pounds hiring boats from Le Boat. Now I have my own boat and found that I had forgotten to take prop shaft grease with me from the UK. I walked 200 metres to the Decize Le Boat depot to ask if they could help me -.No - they flatly refused and they... More

We spent a week on the Emma St Patrick hotel barge in the school summer holidays with our dog and our 2 children ( aged 14 and 11) and we all had the trip of a lifetime. We cruised from Puicheric ( near Carcasonne) to Colombiers ( near Beziers) stopping off along the way to visit local landmarks, vineyards, villages... More

We hired a 6 berth cruiser from Le Boat and set out from Homps and a leisurely cruise to Port Cassafieres over a week. Being a narrower canal we enjoyed the closeness of the overhanging trees and the rolling countryside - vineyards and farm lands. We stopped when we wanted too - lunch and overnight. We especially enjoyed Le Somail... More

Just back from a weeks cruise from Castlenaudary to Port Cassafierre ! We went with a company called Le Boat. They were indeed very good and made arrangements for our boat to be left open on the first night due to a 5 hr flight delay.Setting off we were not looking forward to the dreaded locks and the first few provided... I have previously written a review on this (Canal du Midi & Le Boat - An absolute must), but after reading a few other reviews, I decided to do this one. This is actually not a review, but a few tips to make your cruise easier. 1. Make sure this is the kind of trip you'll enjoy. It doesn't matter... More

My husband and I started our 5-week trip in Europe, coming from New Zealand, with a couple days in Paris, followed by a 5 day, 6 night guided cycling tour of the Canal du Midi. This was booked through our travel agent in NZ, Private Travel, via Walkers World, then executed via the company who does it here, France Bike.... More
