While making a photo stop in the picturesque town of St. Enimee we looked astonishingly up the mountain and saw cars on a road hugging the cliffs above the town. A short time later, having opted for the "shortest route" to Le Rozier on our GPS, we found ourselves on the D16 heading up the mountain on that very road.... More

You can pick any villages off the map in this area and have a wonderful time making your way from one to the next. Swimming in streams, walking the gorgeous villages, looking for tomme de Brebis, the local sheep's milk cheese. Gorge du Tarn is very lovely, though the villages right along it are more full. We were driving through the Cevennen, to see friends who live in in the middel of this national park (Bez-et-Esparon) and it's just stunning to see al the beauty. We visited the apiculturist/bee-keeper Gérard Simon. Great honey

Wonderful area, gorgeous villages everywhere with wonderful markets selling local produce, Tuesday market at Jean du Gard was fantastic, will definitely return to this area

Wonderful area with breathtaking views around every bend.. We visited the caves near the top of Mont Aigoual which are worth a visit. A word of warning... They don't take cards. I still worth the 5 starts though.

The Cevennes national park area is really beautiful! We stayed in Millau 1 night to see the bridge and then moved on from here. The scenery is incredible! There are lots of lovely little villages along the way- Nant, La Couvertoirade and lots of others I can't remember the names of. It's well worth a visit, I will definitely return... More

We drove from Florac down to St Jean du Gard. Beautiful scenery - it reminded me a bit of the Blue Ridge Trailway in the Smokey Mountains of Nother Carolina. If you're a motorbiker (motard|), ride the Corniche de Cevennes. It's gotta be one of the outstanding runs in Europe. A good surface and lots of 'twisties' - watch out... More
