Even on a very wet day this lace is absolutely fantastic plan to spend at least 2 hours here one cannot imagine how many people it took to build this place and just what it must have cost.

On a warm and sunny day there are stunning views back towards the gardens, parkland and chateau. Reminder of Venice

The Grand Canal is grand but nothing like Venice but it was a good place for Louie to ride around in a gondola and sparing no expense! Can't miss it if you do Versailles.

We have gone to the grand canal almost everyday we have been in Versailles. There is plenty to do and you cannot really get bored. You can rent a bike, relax along side, punic, or rent a boat. Tourists and locals all enjoy the scenery here.

Just the magnitude of this engineering endeavor is breathtaking. I would have loved to go rowing but did not devote the time for this as we were touring the gardens. I just can't believe the acreage of the grounds and the Grand Canal is the center piece! We did have a fee because it was a special event Sunday. The... More

The Grand Canal is the main focal point of all the gardens. We saw many people renting rowboats during our two-day visit....looking very relaxed. This is a good way to get some upper body exercise, especially with all the exercise your legs get walking and climbing stairs.

I moved here a couple of months ago & got myself a bike (everybody in Versaille cycles even the pensioners) I come here most Sundays the scenery is to die for,, the locals abound with picnics,,, sitting reading books,,, painting,,,, rowers on the canal. An amazing place with so much atmosphere & history.

These gardens are way better than the actual palace at Versailles. They are huge and you can spend an entire day within them. The gardening is great. Best of all, there is tons of free space unlike many attractions in Versailles and Paris.

This B&B is a justly rated top place to stay. The guest house is contemporary but the whole of your experience will recall the gentle pace and elegance of another era. Breakfast may be taken outside in your personal little garden and your location is no further than a 10 minutes' walk to the palace and other attractions. Your hostess,... More

The gardens are fantastic and worth the extra money to check out. The Paris Museum Pass does NOT include th Gardens. Wonderfully manicured and at times it can feel like your alone, or close to it. There are even a few places to grab a bite to eat. Take your time, take it, get lost.
