The grand plaza in front, unique in this city, the grandeur of the construction, the solemnity of its interior, elegant yet simple. Worth walk around the quarter and discover the small restaurants and stores, the market and fairs. A true pleasure.

typical baroque style, many important people of the XVIII century are buried there. Madame de Pomapadour had her funeral mass there, but the king was not allowed to attend!!!(she was not royalty).it is daid as the cortege funebre passed he was on the balcony and cried...and the he went out hunting

On your way out from Versailles back to the train station make a small detour and stop by this cathedral. It is a nice spot away from the commercialism of the main streets. Wander the back streets to get a more residence feel of Versailles. Standard European cathedral with some activities. Some cafes around to give your feet a rest... More

Well worth visiting. Go to the Potage on your way if you would like to be educated in the ways of fruit production(hardly anyone goes there). Cost €4.50/each. You will have the place to yourself. Best time when the fruit trees are in flower(spring).

From the outside it did not look that impressive we were not sure if it was open !! In side music was playing and they were filming, we believe, a religious festival for the local TV Station. In side a very impressive Cathederale with a long hostory going back to Louis XIV, maybe not as decorative as some cathederales we... More

Sometimes when you are not looking for something you can have the most memorable experience. This cathedral dominates the cobbled square in the centre of the oldest residential quartier of Versailles, the Saint Louis area, which comprises original 16 century buildings many of which are being restored. On the day we stumbled on this area walking back to our hotel in... More

Beautiful old building, lovely stained glass windows. The churchis currently being updated, as its very run down. the high glass windows are lovely, however the lower windows are plain or have clear glass. Nice church to sit in and reflect on the day.
