We booked a tour of the palace at Versailles with LinkParis.com for 13 people. After a bit of misunderstanding about pricing, everything turned out very well. Their minibus picked us up at our hotel in Paris and took us to Versailles with a very knowledgeable guide. We toured the palace for 2 - 3 hours and then had lunch at... More

The good - Versailles is a wonderful castle with beautiful gardens. The bad - the crush of the crowds during the height of tourist season make it next to impossible to enjoy the surroundings. "Guided tours" block the passages and create traffic jams throughout the chateau. It is hot, stuffy and feels like a cattle call. Only the wonder of... More

This beautiful building was on our list of must sees whilst in Paris (we had pre-booked, avoid the queues tickets). On arrival on one of the hottest days of the year, we were greeted with a mass of people, approx. 2000 (my partner casually counted a few heads as we walked away). This was the 'beat the queue line,' there... More

We arrived on a coach tour in May on a Sunday. Very very busy fortunately because we were on a coach trip we had a time slot for entry otherwise the queue is really long. I would advise going during the week if you possibly can. Going through the Chateaux was horrendous it was just jam packed you really could... More

I have booked online the passport ticket for 1 day. If you want to have a great experience, arrive early, around 9.00 am, see the palace and after that enjoy the gardens with fountain shows and the Trianon. Bring your own food and water, it is pretty expensive if you buy it from there.

It was almost one day visit. it has everything, Nice gardens( where I had lunch, and got lost twice), playing fountain, and of course The Palace by Itself, which is simple amazing. I definitely advice to visit this Palace if you are around.

the palace is absolutely spectacular. My suggestion is to go EARLY. It was so crowded when we went that we were unable to stop and see most of the rooms and artwork. we are in our 70's and walk a bit slow, I felt, if I fell I would be trampled. they do have wheelchairs but after 5 minutes of... First if you are taking the RER, you need to buy a special ticket to get to the Chateau. I guess it goes out of the regular Paris zone. It's a little more than the regular tix. Also, buy your return tix in Paris, so you don't have to wait in line in Versailles on the way back. We got... More

You can buy your tickets at nearby shops, this beats one of the ques, but u will still have to line up for entry into the palace. Our guide suggested to visit the gardens first, then at about 3pm proceed to the palace. We noted on the information board by the coach park that if you are an EU citizen... More
