It was the best experience ever. Not all the rooms in the palace are open to public and only half of them are worth seeing but the gardens.... Oh, the gardens. So amazing! It is perfect for a long walk under the sun. It is so quiet and relaxing. There is a train that goes from the palace to the... More

We visited versailles over two days. We saw the chateau on a Friday afternoon, which was nice because it wasn't very crowded. The palace is amazing. Words cannot describe the grandeur. We saw the gardens on a drizzly Sunday afternoon. We almost didn't go because of the rain but only have one more day in Paris so decided to risk... More

No visit to Paree can omit this extraordinary edifice and its emblematic halls, let alone the vastness of its gardens and forests. In fact, a second visit is necessary to study in minutia the treasures that deck the halls, as the saying goes. I love the simplicity of Marie Antoinette's private quarters at Le Petit Trianon, her bucolic animal farm... More

I prefer places to be furnished more to give a feel of how the inhabitants actually lived. The palace was mostly empty of furnishings likely for good reason...the revolution. However, to walk through such a large building and mainly see just paintings, statues and busts of rich people with large egos is not my cup of tea. I did not... More

If You want to see Versailles get the train from the main station in Paris, or you can use some of the Metro stations. Tickets from the booth machines are simply to use and it is 8 euro return, about 30-40 minutes then 10 minute walk. When you get to Versailles get your ticket from ticket office 15euros BEFORE joining... More

Versailles was on our bucket list. We decided to take the auto route (peage). Even though it meant paying extra. Well it was worth every penny spent. Doing it this way meant driving down to Versailles without any problems what so ever. Firstly there was hardly any traffic, and there were various stops for coffee in pleasant surroundings and even... More

Quite an amazing visit. A lot of ground to cover. The Hall of Mirrors is exquisite. It did not disappoint. We heard so much about the history of this place, so it was exciting to actually be there. Lines are long, took us about 1 hour and a half to get in. You have to go off to the building... More

Last visited 20 years ago and have been keen to visit again ever since - wasn't disappointed - had a fantastic day out. It was helped by a beautiful sunny January day, and cos it was January crowds weren't too great and you could enjoy the exhibits without too much trouble. Only downside of visiting in the winter is the... More

A very lovely place. The garden is the most beautiful place. Very picturesque. See pic below taken by my fiancé. I want to go back during autumn. Tip: the queue can get very long. So go there first thing in the morning. I think we queued for 1.5 but it was well worth it :)
