A dream since a child. In love with the culture! Lines were insane. Tuesday's are the worst. It's closed on Mondays. Chinese tourists run you over. Amazing gardens & Marie Antoinette's estates.. Amazing! So big you need a train which is another hour line & extra money. Overall so grateful I got to go!!

Perhaps this is the "new normal" for international tourism, but the huge, rude and unruly crowds made our visit unpleasant. We left as soon as the crowd pushed us out the door. The wait to enter, even with pre-purchased tickets, was over a hour.

Well worth a visit, but the queues are terrible, and (at least on the Sunday we visited) the place was so full that it completely spoiled our visit.

This is one of the most and well maintained palace ( Chateau) I have ever seen in my life. This is UNESCO world heritage site which forced me to see this place. This place is in suburb of Paris and it was home to france’s royal family. I took an RER ( Suburban Railway ) to reach this place and I... More

If you think queuing for 90 minutes in the pouring rain for an extra special experience will be worth it, prepare to be disappointed, the effect of the place is spoilt by crowds and particularly the organised parties of (mainly) Chinese tourists who photograph everything in sight and don't mind barging you out the way to get the shot. If... More

As others have said it is crowded, there can be long queues. Although an organized tour is more expensive it is worth it to avoid the hassle. The first thing that stood out to us is the sheer size of the place, everything is to an enormous scale, whether it be the buildings, the individual rooms, the tapestries, the paintings.... More

Of course Versailles is one of the most famous chateaux in the world, so everyone wants to see it. Unfortunately the visitor experience is impaired by overcrowding, and especially by the rampant use of selfie sticks inside the building. If they would ban selfie sticks, it would help a lot. It would also help if they would implement a system... More

My favorite spot in Paris. If you like history, beautiful architecture, visually stunning outdoor surroundings, you'll love Versailles. Keep in mind the gardens alone are 290 acres, so be prepared to walk and come at opening time to squeeze every bit of it in. Make sure you buy the Paris Pass AND TICKETS TO THE FOUNTAIN SHOW. If you don't,... More

Went here on a rainy day with family. Truly beautiful. Every room is so different. Great history lesson for all ages. Wear comfortable shoes because you will be walking for hours.

Loved the palace, but we waited in a 1.5 hour queue when we arrived at opening time. When we asked where the 'no queue' line was, they pointed us to a horrendously long line. Seriously? It was worth it when we finally got in, but just be prepared to come at 4:00 am or stand in line.
