I loved getting to see such a historic sight! The beauty of this palace is unlike any other. I wish we could have seen more of the gardens but they were filming a movie. I would get there as soon as possible in the morning to avoid the crowds.

Versailles castle is a definite must see when in Paris. To truly enjoy it you need a whole day. Castle interior is absolutely fabulous. Beautiful rooms and amazing ceiling art. I think that, most of all, we enjoyed the hall of mirrors- it was breathtaking and not to forget historically very important! Gardens are very big with beautiful fountains, but... More

The Versailles castle is certainly one of the most beautiful castle in the world with enormous gardens and many many things to see but there are so many tourists that you have towait around 2 hours just to pass the check point even if you have bought your tickets on the internet. Thousands of people in the courtyard and no... More

Key Problems 1> You have to wait in queue for at least 2 hours on a good day ( Good weather). 2> Poor crowd management the lines move slowly. 3> No separate queues for families with children in pushchairs like they provide in say Louvre Museum, Paris. Disabled access is seprate though. 4> The guards are rude and can't provide... More

Versailles was amazing and we filled a day here easily. From a trip on a train to beautiful art and amazing opulence of the castle itself, to the quaintness of the country and farmlife only a trolley ride away, yet on the same estate. Just when we were ready to return home and felt we could fit in no more,... More

While the Chateau de Versailles appears on many lists of places to go in France, complaints about lines and crowds seem to go hand-in-hand with visits so my wife and I prepared ourselves for that possibility. We were staying outside of Paris and had a rental car. The trip through the fringes of Paris traffic takes concentration(especially with speeding motorcyclists)... More

The palace is full of breathtaking rooms, and amazing architecture, a definite must see when in Paris. I would go on a day, that the other Main attractions aren't closed though. We went when the palace was closed the day before, and the other main attractions were closed the day of us visiting Versailles, this lead to waiting 25 minutes... More

I stayed in Paris for 5 days and the day trip to Versailles was most definitely worth it !! The grounds themselves were absolutely breathtaking and simply strolling around the enormous gardens was surely enough ! It is definitely worth going there for those of you who are History lovers, but it is also worthwhile for those people who love... More

Pre-booking is a very good idea as the visitor numbers/queues can be as impressive as the Palace. The RER train provides a good service to the Palace but make sure you get on the right one as the line splits on the outbound journey. It's difficult to describe this place in a few words but breathtaking sums it up. The... More

The website provided information about the history of the Chateau and the life of Louis XIV. The Chateau is filled with amazing rooms that were built centuries ago. The salons (rooms) of the Chateau were cleverly named as it symbolized the aspects of the Roman gods. I especially learned about the amazing Hall of Mirrors and how important it was.... More
