While I did not actually visit the store at rue bonaparte, I stayed at a very nice boutique hotel which had a welcoming gift of the Herme macarons. I have to admit that while having tasted many macarons before, I never quite understood them before this. These were fantastic! Made me change my mind about macarons, they were that good!

Absolutely delicious macarons with amazing fillings, try Mogador or Ispahan. The Ispahan croissants are so unusual and good. The millefeuilles are incredible, especially the praline. Not to be missed

These are the best macaroons I've ever tried, and I can say I frequently visit Laduree. The two boutiques I've visited are very small, but the employers are kind, helpful and well informed. The only thing that I find disappointing is the lack of variety in small stores. Pierre Herme has delicious pastries... We should be able to find more... More

We walked by this store on our way to the shopping street and decided to just go inside and have a look. Lot's of chocolate and macaroons the only thing a regret is that I didn buy more. It's not a cheap place but the quality and taste makes it worth to buy any way.

Truly astonishing work of arts that we can only dream of back home in Australia. The technicality of the 2000 Millefeuille especially is unlike anything we've seen before. The flavour profile of both desserts were spot on; not too sweet nor sour. Perfect! It has definitely left us with a lasting impression and something to remember our trip to Paris... More

I have yet to understand the appeal of the overly sweet macarons sold by Pierre Herme. And I don't think the chocolates here match many that I have sampled elsewhere in Paris. But long lines form daily outside the rue Bonaparte shop and customers wait a long time to be served. Friends, who have not even eaten a PH macaron,... More

When my daughter and I visited Paris we were had planned to test out lots of french pastries, especially macarons. We stopped at both Peirre Herme and Laduree, but were disappointed in the macarons in both, but if I had to pick which was had the better macaron, I would vote for Pierre Herme. We stopped at the Champs-Elysees address,... More

Pierre herme is the place to buy French bakery, chocolate, macaroons and jam. Although, prices Are quite expensive, the quality is just perfect and resistant for transport or high temperature ! Macaroons are simply the best you can find in Paris (better than macaroons from Laduree !!) and chocolate are just 💥 ... ! And you can try them !... More

Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighborhood Profile
Saint-Germain-des-Pres
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighborhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighborhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
