Best Macarons in the world!

What a treat to be in Paris again and to pop into one of Pierre Herme's beautiful shops for Macarons. They alone are worth the trip to Paris!

I previously tried macarons at Laduree, wasn't impressed. Today we tried them again at Pierre Herman. Wow! Fresh and full of flavor. Went early on a Sunday - no line!

Just fabulous. There are lines all day long but we managed to get in one day and bought the most delicious chocolate and macarons. The sales staff was lovely and we enjoyed the samples.

Not just any macaron! The Pierre Hermes macaron! They are heaven. We visited the newest location in Le Marais district on rue Sainte-Croix-de-la-Bretonnerie when it just opened in 2013. Somehow we found an excuse to stop by nearly everyday. The honey lavender are so special. There are so many flavors to choose from and look like little gems in the... More

This shop is below Pierre Herme's office and lab close to Place St Sulpice. Pierre Herme is famous for his exceptional desserts, including macarons. Everything he propose looks very "precious". It doesn't look like someone's grandmother prepared it. It often looks like a little jewel. There is some Japanese style to the look of each dessert. But they are often... More

Recommended to us by someone. Shop on the Rue Bonaparte. Line out the door, with people taking photos like crazy. We bought two assortments to take home with us for friends. 56 euros later, we left the shop. They are beyond the best, they melt in your mouth, with all the different blends of flavors.

Although you sometimes have to stay in line, it is worth it! The creations of Topchef Herme are not only delicious but also a feast for the eyes. We had a selection of macarons (ofcourse) in one of those cute boxes and tried the signature Ispahan, which was just heavenly!

I had the pleasure to enjoy herme's macarons 4 or 5 times now, and now that I've tried them, I'm not even bothering having any other macarons since all the others i've had are NOTHING compared to those! A bit pricey but i wish they'd had more stores in France....

I'm not normally a macaron fan, but these were just amazing. You can choose your own assortment or but one of the boxes. A lovely little card comes with your purchase to remind you of the flavours you bought and all the others waiting for you. Super soft centres and great flavours. Tres bien!

Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighborhood Profile
Saint-Germain-des-Pres
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighborhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighborhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
