Just OK for food. We loved sitting at cafes on rue de Buci. Five little dot thingies for the people watching and ambiance alone. But the restaurants immediately in the mostly pedestrian zone leave something to be desired. If you want to eat, get off of rue de Buci and try la Jacobine (great food). Also heard that Fish is... Much goes on here to make rue de Buci a draw, but it is not an open-air market. Instead, it is a street market with shops that may have stalls outside their businesses. Cafes, restaurants, fashion and souvenir shops mingle with those selling fruits and vegetables, meat, fish and cheese. Tourists flock here, likely because guidebooks tout the street, which... More

A friend recommended this place for ambience and food. They were right! I did not expect staff to be awesome also. Waiter was friendly, spoke good English, attentive to food allergy concerns Great location in Latin Quarter.

We stayed just around the corner for 6 nights and bought most of our food here. There is a fantastic fruit shop with fresh juices. We thought the apricots were the best.We bought fruit here everyday and were given a bag big of cherries for free on the last day.No fruit shop in Australia has ever given me anything for free.... Not really a market, just a lovely street - with nice restaurants, coffee places, bakeries and pastry shops. don't miss if you are on the left-bank.

Loved strolling the avenue and grabing some coffee and desser with my wide. Love the people watching and just " being French " for a few hours. It has a feel of energy yet relaxing enough to sit back and fade away. Give it a try.

This is one of those streets that is very typically Parisian. Great in both the day time and at night it has two faces you can experience.

We stayed in a walk up one bedroom apartment. Rue De Buci is a fantastic location, close to all attractions, the metro, and with lots of good cheap restaurants close at hand.

Shop after shop with fun eateries in-between. A very popular area among locals but also among tourists--so it's usually pretty crowded, but the crowds do not detract too much from the great experience. When the markets are all but closed in the later evening hours, the brasseries and cafes teem with a different energy. Just a fun area!

We started staying on Rue de Buci ten years ago while visiting Paris and have kept coming back. It is a fun place to just wonder. Buying a gelati or a coffee (expresso as cafe au lait in France is just not an equivalent to a latte that is claimed) and watching the passing parade, is a great pastime. The... More
