Definitely a must if you love large green spaces, a lake, beautiful trees, birds and history. Located in the south of Paris - in the 14th arrondissement, popular with joggers or taking a stroll to decompress. A well kept secret is La Petite Ceinture or little belt railway - An abandoned railway built more than 150 yrs ago in the... More

A nice green space south of the capital, with a charming lake Located in the fourteenth arrondissement, this "large garden" is home to numerous plant species, where many different birds live. Its construction was decided under the second empire with Baron Haussmann (1860), the international campus is nearby, making it a living place; children come to learn to ride a... More

This is one of my favorite parts of Paris. The parc itself is not big, but there is something charming about this place. In the summer often you can see classes of dance,or other things. You can picnic, in the nice days. Nice to visit with friends, family,love...

I've been to Paris many times in the past and one place I always wish I could take with me is this park! Beautiful to take a stroll or morning run. Has nice lakes and large grass areas, perfect for a picnic. Occasional musicians playing guitar and singing too.

Just over the road from RER Cite Universitaire is this lovely park. Feels very different from the formal layouts of Parisian parks - because it was set out in the English style. Plenty of grassy space to picnic or read or just relax. Play areas and ice cream for children. A few eateries - high end formal outdoor restaurant and... More

Really beautiful park from many Parisian parks. Great for walking, relaxing, running. The cafes are a bit expensive, but then it's still Paris. Surprisingly clean compared to the streets around it.

While we have made many trips to Paris, we didn't discover the Parc Montsouris until someone lent us an apartment nearby. It has the character of a neighborhood park, with the usual attractions, and the beauty of a great park. Napoleon III and baron Haussmann wanted to create a natural landscape while also providing well designed walkways and plantings. The... More

Our hotel clerk recommended this park to us when we were telling him we wanted to visit some of the parks during our stay! It is THE most wonderful place - the Sunday morning joggers thought so too! An interesting walk led us past black swans on the lake, pony rides for children, a play area, gentle slopes, a restaurant... More

This is a beautiful landscaped park in the south of the city with easy access from Cite University station. The northern park has a lake with a healthy population of wildfowl, including black swans, while the central and southern parts are made up of open grass and hills. The park was planted imaginatively and naturalistically and full of bees and... More

Staying in Montparnasse

Neighborhood Profile
The namesake tower of Montparnasse dominates over the landscape but the fun part is the throbbing life that goes on below it. Bright lights, busy cinemas, brasseries and diners encompass hidden museums and parks to entertain the masses. Long avenues lead away from the tower to take you to unsuspecting places and historical monuments and treasures. In between lie adorable ivy-covered houses with beams and small gardens to match. Just a short metro ride away from the center of Paris this neighborhood has something for every hour of the day.
