I passed the park on the way to the hotel and was struck by the architecture of the chalet at the entrance to the park, and then decided to go there on an early evening stroll. This is one of four large parks in Paris, where two are actually forests: Bois de Boulogne and Bois de Vincennes. The other park... More

This relatively small park lies on a hill. It has a pond. It is not a well know part of Paris for tourists. However, it deserves a visit, in particular if you include a visit of the very interesting Cité Universitaire, right next to it, which today is home of a lot os French and mostly foreign students.

Montsouris Park is in Paris’s left bank – the 14th arrondissement – and not as well known as the other left bank park, the Luxembourg. However, Montsouris is a treasure and you could spend an entire day there having a wonderfully relaxing time. Montsouris is easy to get to. You can (1) walk from Porte d’Italie (Métro line 7 direction... More

I came across the Parc Montsouris as I was making my way to the Porte d'Orléans on foot and I had time to kill, so I ventured inside. It was a nice day and there were quite a few joggers around. It is not a big park, but the elevation differences in it make it feel quite big. There are... More

The Parc Montsouris is a lovely green park in the 14th arrondisement in Paris. Another beautiful green space to sit, stroll, jog in right in the city of Paris. There is a very nice restaurant called Pavillon Montsouris here that opens directly onto the park. Highly recommended!

We went there on a saturday afternoon towards the end of the afternoon. It was nice to get away from the hustle and bustle although it was very busy. I recommend visiting if you are in the area otherwise it probably isnt worth the trip.

Parc Mountsouris in the 14th Arrondissement a gem of an English-style park. That is naturally landscaped like Central Park in New York or the Englischer Garten in Munich with large undulating expanses of lawn on which you can walk, sit, or play, giant trees not set in straight rows, and a generally natural look. It has a beautiful little lake... More

We spent a couple of hours here. Just a really nice peaceful oasis within the city. A nice variety of open areas, trails, ponds, etc. Some food available. We listened to a live band playing in the pavilion. It was all really nice.

My youngest loved playing in the kids section of the park. It is filled with a huge sandy area for digging, slides, climbing forts and also a miniature mountain range with a highway. We loved it!

Staying in Montparnasse

Neighborhood Profile
The namesake tower of Montparnasse dominates over the landscape but the fun part is the throbbing life that goes on below it. Bright lights, busy cinemas, brasseries and diners encompass hidden museums and parks to entertain the masses. Long avenues lead away from the tower to take you to unsuspecting places and historical monuments and treasures. In between lie adorable ivy-covered houses with beams and small gardens to match. Just a short metro ride away from the center of Paris this neighborhood has something for every hour of the day.
