I've been to Paris many times in the past and one place I always wish I could take with me is this park! Beautiful to take a stroll or morning run. Has nice lakes and large grass areas, perfect for a picnic. Occasional musicians playing guitar and singing too.

Just over the road from RER Cite Universitaire is this lovely park. Feels very different from the formal layouts of Parisian parks - because it was set out in the English style. Plenty of grassy space to picnic or read or just relax. Play areas and ice cream for children. A few eateries - high end formal outdoor restaurant and... More

Really beautiful park from many Parisian parks. Great for walking, relaxing, running. The cafes are a bit expensive, but then it's still Paris. Surprisingly clean compared to the streets around it.

While we have made many trips to Paris, we didn't discover the Parc Montsouris until someone lent us an apartment nearby. It has the character of a neighborhood park, with the usual attractions, and the beauty of a great park. Napoleon III and baron Haussmann wanted to create a natural landscape while also providing well designed walkways and plantings. The... More

Our hotel clerk recommended this park to us when we were telling him we wanted to visit some of the parks during our stay! It is THE most wonderful place - the Sunday morning joggers thought so too! An interesting walk led us past black swans on the lake, pony rides for children, a play area, gentle slopes, a restaurant... More

This is a beautiful landscaped park in the south of the city with easy access from Cite University station. The northern park has a lake with a healthy population of wildfowl, including black swans, while the central and southern parts are made up of open grass and hills. The park was planted imaginatively and naturalistically and full of bees and... More

We came across this parc as we were walking towards les buttes aux Cailles near the university. It's so beautiful and the trees and walkways are amazing. We ended up watching a concert in the parc. A lovely place to spend an afternoon strolling around.

I passed the park on the way to the hotel and was struck by the architecture of the chalet at the entrance to the park, and then decided to go there on an early evening stroll. This is one of four large parks in Paris, where two are actually forests: Bois de Boulogne and Bois de Vincennes. The other park... More

This relatively small park lies on a hill. It has a pond. It is not a well know part of Paris for tourists. However, it deserves a visit, in particular if you include a visit of the very interesting Cité Universitaire, right next to it, which today is home of a lot os French and mostly foreign students.

Montsouris Park is in Paris’s left bank – the 14th arrondissement – and not as well known as the other left bank park, the Luxembourg. However, Montsouris is a treasure and you could spend an entire day there having a wonderfully relaxing time. Montsouris is easy to get to. You can (1) walk from Porte d’Italie (Métro line 7 direction... More

Staying in Montparnasse

Neighborhood Profile
Montparnasse
The namesake tower of Montparnasse dominates over the landscape but the fun part is the throbbing life that goes on below it. Bright lights, busy cinemas, brasseries and diners encompass hidden museums and parks to entertain the masses. Long avenues lead away from the tower to take you to unsuspecting places and historical monuments and treasures. In between lie adorable ivy-covered houses with beams and small gardens to match. Just a short metro ride away from the center of Paris this neighborhood has something for every hour of the day.
