Although hard to find on a narrow street in Le Marais, this place is well worth the hunt. It is totally dedicated to tea! The shop is in the front; walk through it for a fine restaurant. The menu is limited but trendy - I had smoked salmon decorated with pansies. It is quiet and decorous and the service is... More

Stopping in at Mariage Freres is a must for any tea-lover in Paris. The tea-room serves more varieties of tea than I had time to count, and the service was impeccable. The attached tea-museum was a very nice touch, and after the visit to the tea-room and museum, don't forget to buy some of your favorites to take home.

Waht not to love! They have beautiful teas, which I cannot find anywhere online. I live in the US, and every time I come to Paris, I stop to get more tea, they are great for yourself or gifts. They are located in Carrousel du Louvre, an underground shopping mall within the Louvre.

All the teas your heart could desire. Rather expensive but if you're a tea lover then that won't matter as they are delicious. Staff are really nice also.

We stopped here whilst on a walking tour of Paris & had to return afterwards. We enjoyed a pot of tea each (I had the Bolero...yum) in a very ambient environment. Unfortunately we had already eaten and were not able to fit in the amazing looking cakes in their display. Maybe next time! Didn't disappoint.

This is our second trip to Paris and we found Mariage even better than our first trip. The staff was friendly and professional and the food was even better. And of course the tea is superb - a real treat.

If there is any kind if tea that you fancy, it has to be Mariage Freres. We are happy to be associated with them for supplying our very first produce for the season to them every year from Namring Upper and just love the dedication and passion with which they run their business.

Simply a Must while visiting Paris. Each visit I feel like I am transported to a wonderful zen area. The tea ia probably the best in the world and the design exquisite. The prices are more than reasonable in the tea salon given the amount of tea you get and the cakes are simply sublime.

We were lucky to have Martin of Paris by Martin take us by Mariage Freres to experience a quintessential French tea shop. Amazing aromas and displays. We are bringing some home AND will order more when we get home.

Staying in Le Marais

Neighborhood Profile
Le Marais
The Marais is a winding maze of multi-faceted streets that beg to be explored. It bursts with small boutiques, historic buildings, cozy traditional restaurants, and hidden parks. Around each corner, you'll come across little gems of architecture spanning the centuries, from understated medieval towers to classical libraries and 17th century splendor. This neighborhood unites a rich mix of people of all ages, but it's best known for the gay scene mostly in the south and the Jewish community around Rue des Rosiers.
