While I could roughly translate the text on individual exhibits, and many were also translated, the free English audio guide was also useful. The museum is strangely segmented into two collections, which you don't quite realize until you get to the second. I found the first more interesting. As the a non-Jew, who is a partner of a Jew, I... More

The museum is in a lovely old building with the impressive collection organized by the various Jewish holidays, rituals and events. This was a very meaningful way to organize a vast and engaging collection. I'd include it as a "must see" especially for someone with a connection to or interest in Judiasm however "novice" or not. I'm not especially reglious... More

This museum aims to please everyone which is part of its problem. There's art, description of Jewish rituals and holidays, history, etc. It's overwhelming and frankly hard to follow. The guided audio tour is helpful, but the rooms and audio points aren't well marked. More

What a pleasant, quiet haven of culture and history - once you passed through the security check... A rich collection on the complicated development of Jewish life in France, but also in Europe. Committed and friendly staff, excellent museology, no propaganda, audio guides if desired. Especially interesting and very well researched: the exhibitions, recently the German Walter Benjamin archives. Amazing. More

Museum has an audio tape included in the admission price. Displays are well organized so there isn't an issue of crowding. Many displays are centered around Jewish holidays. Still plenty to read. Lots of artifacts. Allow considerable amount of time(we were there for 2 hrs and then became saturated so we rushed through last sections). There were benches throughout the... More

The French Jewish community is the largest & most vibrant in Europe. This well-funded museum has interesting artifacts and exhibits. They also have some cultural activities for kids. The only issue I have is that you sometimes get the feeling that Judaism is finished & this is a monument to something gone rather than something still alive. More

This museum is extraordinary given france's history of anti-semitism (which still prevails). People of all faiths should visit to see what horrors humans inflict upon others simply because they are different. All should go to this museum. And if they wish to learn more should read Sarah's Key to learn about the round-up of all of the jewish citizenry at... More
