The Forum des Halles is an underground shopping mall in Les Halles whch is located in the 1e arrondissement in Paris. It caters more to high street fashion brands and not so much the haute couture. A huge cavernous space, it has very very many stores all under one roof. The Chatelet-Les Halles metro & RER station are here making... More

Walking through the streets of Paris you'll definitely find shops in which you can buy clothes etc... but unfortunately the majority are a bit pricey. So if you're in Paris for 3-4 nights and would like to dedicate a day for shopping, Forum Des Halle is the best location to do so. It contains international shops like: H&M, Zara, Oysho,... More

The mall is being currently reconstructed, the shops are being open, but does not give currently a pleasant shopping experience. Just for emergency shopping

Some day in the future, this could be an underground museum, the star focus of being the labyrinthine passages. It is just so confusing, with so many "Sortie" and Metro lines. The passages are somewhat narrow and old too, so they get creepy when deserted, and really unpleasant if crowded. And I'm not even factoring in the construction work ongoing.... More

The mall has some nice shops, but it is very easy to get lost in and no signage. We could not find our way out! Some interesting artwork. Stop by if you are in the area, but don't make the extra trip.

This shopping centre is undergoing a massive redevelopment and is currently one great big building site. Would of been easier to close the whole place down, completed the task in half the time and just leave access to the metro and RER station below. A lot of the signs were misguiding, leading to dead ends where sections of the shopping... More

Went there expecting a nice mall, we were wrong. The mall is not only ugly as sin, it is smelly. Stay clear of this 'mall'.

This is a huge shopping mall in a basement and it lacks fresh air. The place is simply too big - if you want to visit a certain shop you need to walk for ages, if you are lucky enough to find your way in this labyrinth. Needing a restroom I had to walk for 15 minutes and pay half... More

This is a large shopping center near the Chatelet des Halles metro station. The shopping center is underground, and not particularly attractive in appearance - it is quite concrete and industrial-looking. In addition, when we were there (in Nov 2012), the mall seemed somewhat dirty (e.g., there was lots of trash and dust and debris on several of the steps).... More

Fairly grungy place. Lots of homeless people in the area. However there are some nice modern retailers in the shopping center, good deals and two movie theaters. Outside around the cafes, there are far far too many smokers. Cigarette butts smell and smoke making the air quality very bad.

Staying in Les Halles

Neighborhood Profile
Les Halles
Historically the central iron-clad market of Paris, Les Halles has evolved architecturally since then but the pulsating energy has stayed the same. Now it houses the main shopping mall, which nestles underground surrounded by fast-food take-aways and international restaurants coupled with beautiful churches and the old commodity exchange. Parallel to it are the high-street stores of Rue de Rivoli and just parallel to that the Seine. The area bustles with faces from all continents and all ages at all times of the day. If enjoying high-street shopping with easy access to fast eateries and lively bars is on your agenda, this is the place to go.
