Ok where to start...the cocolate mini eggs are the best things I have ever eaten. Dont get me started on the cookies! All the colors and the flavors are unreal. People beged us to bring some back and we made it with three of the four containers not crushed. Take your time taste and come back here again and again!

We found this store while on a Left Bank walk. It has a good selection of chocolates which you help yourself by putting them in a plastic bag to be weighed. It's 50 euros/kg. They also have a selection of macarons- maybe 2 dozen different flavors. Single flavors. They tasted good but, personally, I thought the macarons from McDonald's cafes... More

I thought I might try the Laduree macarons but when I got there, I was shocked at the exorbitant prices, so I walked away. But I chanced upon the beautiful, enticing pastries at Maison Georges Larnicol (at their little shop in Rue de la Harpe) and that's where I bought my macarons. I think it was about 6EUR for 8,... Everything there is delcious. I bought only one jar of creamy caramel and it's something I regret until today.. The place is great, the staff, not. Don't expect people to answer you in english or any other language. Try visiting the store early in the morning (before lunch time), or it is going to be really crowded. a good tip... More

We first encountered Larnicol in Brittany and were knocked for a loop! Then found it at one Paris location and decided to seek it out wherever in France. We tried to find it in the St. Germaine arr. with no luck but on return stay in Marais found it around the corner. Wonderland! The kouginettes are unlike anything else -lots... More

We recently went to Paris and since our apartment was a block away, went to Maison Georges Larnicol a few times during our stay. Macarons are delicious. I had chocolate and strawberry. The texture was perfect & the fillings were a burst of delicious flavor. I also purchased rum raisin and almond kouignettes. Both amazing. Soft, buttery and just the... More

I visited the branch near the sacre Coeur; the chocolate art was a sight to behold. The selection of macarons, chocolates and cookies were vast, and tasty, but not quite at the high standards of specialty chocolatiers. Still worth a try though

Located in the heart of Deauville (50 rue Gambetta), this beautiful, classy store is not your average chocolate store. What will it be? a red shoe? a heart, or a ladybug? How about some wafer thin crispy "torchettes" cookies. You select what you want in the self serve section or buy an assortment ready to go. Dorothee "knows her stuff"... More

I tried a selection of chocolates. I placed them in a plastic bag and they're weighed. Mine included gorgeous little eggs of various colors that were pure chocolate, a powder dusted ball with hazelnuts and a stack that looked like coconut but was dark orange peel i think. Absolutely delicious and yes, pricy, but eat it slowly. You don't need... More

Though a little pricey, Maison Geroges Larnicol had an excellent selection of Macaroons made fresh, aswell as candies and chocolates. You could pick your own macaroons one by one or buy a pre made box of 7 - 21. Friendly staff and delicious macaroons!

Staying in Odeon / Saint-Michel

Neighborhood Profile
Odeon / Saint-Michel
As the bustling center of entertainment for the residents of the Rive Gauche, the activity at Odéon never stops. Boulevards are lined with traditional cafes, restaurants, and boutique cinemas. The streets surrounding the fountain at Saint-Michel provide eateries from around the world. Lively bars are just next door and the prototypical terraced French brasserie is on every corner. The setting for this area is second to none; the Haussmann-style boulevards are contrasted by monumental architecture and overshadowed by the iconic Notre Dame, all within a moment’s walk from the Seine. This neighborhood's world-famous bookshops, cafés, and streets will not fail to impress you.
