Awesome, intimate jazz club

This is the type of Jazz club that you see in the old movies. It is a cramped space where even the bad seats are within 10 meters of the stage. The acoustics are amazing!! Get there early and get a front or second row seat and then get yourself a beverage and watch the magic of a live performance... More

I have been going back to this club for years, spending almost every night i am in Paris. (Tried Duc des Lombards once, see my dismal review on that!) Excellent jazz for the most part, two separate clubs with two different programs, yes it is cramped, but it's a jazz club for goodness sakes! You get to meet nice people... More

I've come to this wonderful jazz club for over 20 years. True the last time was ten years ago. Has the world changed so much - in so WORSE? Yes in 2005 iPhones and such were not all over the place. As a performer myself nothing more distracting than being on stage an being assaulted by hundreds of little very... More

This place is perfect for a great night out, if you're into jazz. Even if enjoying good live music in a crowded basement might not be the first thing that comes to mind when you think about Paris, you should try this place. Great acoustic, intimate atmosphere and good mojitos (although the added pinch of angostura may not be to... More

We headed to Sunset Sunside for a birthday celebration. The Jazz and atmosphere were great, but the venue was a little cramped and we had to wait 40 minutes before some seats became free. Drinks were also on the pricey side (€12 a whiskey), but entry was free - so not too bad compared to alternatives! Would go again when... More

Music was great, if it wasn't so hot, it would've gotten a five star. The heat was close to unbearable

The Sunset Sunside is one of three jazz clubs on rue des Lombards which are conveniently located around the Chatelet metro station in the Les Halles going out area. It was the first one to open its doors in 1983 and in 2001 even replaced its restaurant area with a second club called Sunside. There are two concerts each night... More

Great jazz for sure! I went to hear a popular jazz saxophone player and his quartet. The music was amazing. The sound in the club is superb. It’s a great place to listen to music. I went downstairs to the bathroom and there was entirely different concert going on down there. Incredible! Back to the main venue: it’s a very... More

The place opened on time and we had no problem picking up our tickets and getting seated. Unfortunately when you walk in to the club, there is a space for smoking that is closed off to the outside and YET opens into the Jazz club! So even though we sat right up front, there was really no way to completely... More

Great spot to listen to live music in a tiny, but fun club. The seats are set up in rows, like you're at a small, but well attended concert. Drink service during the show is nice, and hey have a great bar. Book in advance, it gets packed.

Staying in Les Halles

Neighborhood Profile
Les Halles
Historically the central iron-clad market of Paris, Les Halles has evolved architecturally since then but the pulsating energy has stayed the same. Now it houses the main shopping mall, which nestles underground surrounded by fast-food take-aways and international restaurants coupled with beautiful churches and the old commodity exchange. Parallel to it are the high-street stores of Rue de Rivoli and just parallel to that the Seine. The area bustles with faces from all continents and all ages at all times of the day. If enjoying high-street shopping with easy access to fast eateries and lively bars is on your agenda, this is the place to go.
