Great experience with Richard, our market guide and Charlotte the chef. Very relaxed and fun setting and I really learned a lot, especially about where our food comes from and how it is processed (even here in the US!). Would highly recommend this for anyone looking to have an authentice Paris experience!

Our cooking class with Charlotte was such a happy experience. After purchasing some supplies with our guide, Richard, we met Charlotte at her amazing townhouse. She is very friendly and easy to be with, and the cooking lesson proceeded smoothly . Some of us are accomplished cooks and mostly looked on while the two teenagers with us were hands-on. We... After having such a great time with the Eye Prefer Paris tour, I decided to do a cooking class through them. It was a really fun experience. Richard took us to even more food markets to shop for our ingredients. All the shops are just beautiful. We went to Charlotte's house, a wonderful five story townhouse with a big open... More

One of the best days of our trip! Charlotte's educational and entertaining market tour and cooking class were relaxed and fun. It felt like we had been friends for ages, just spending a day together. The food was delicious and will be easy to replicate later in our own kitchen. I've already recommended Charlotte's cooking class to friends.

Well, this is just to say that the experience was delightful from beginning to end. Richard and our market shopping began the day with both informative and highly entertaining Paris-style tidbits. Then off to La Maison Charlotte. It was a tour de force of cooking, camaraderie, and joyful eating. The practical and easy to follow nature of the meal we prepared... More

Today we had a delightful experience with Charlotte and Richard for a day of shopping and cooking just off Rue Cler. Our group of six loved the food, the information from Charlotte, the tour of the area from Richard, and the fun as a family of being together in such a relaxed atmosphere. Charlotte is so engaging, so unpretentious and... More

It was not just about the food. Or the class. Or the new friends. The entire experience was deeeee----lightful! First of all, Richard and Charlotte are very charming and our group of six --a fun mix. It was nice to get away from all the touristy spots in Paris and just enjoy the day. From our market tour to our... More

So very glad my husband and I signed up for this class. We had a market tour where we bought some fresh ingredients for our meal including scallops for which the season had just begun; then off to Charlotte's fabulous house built in 1698 with its super modern kitchen. Everything was easy enough to prepare that we can replicate it... More

We were met by Charlotte at the Rennes Metro stop exactly as planned and after quick introductory greetings she gave us a detailed guide through the Marche Raspail, an open market that stretches several blocks down the rue de Raspail. Charlotte keeps her groups small—no more than 6—and this is key because most members of larger groups would be out... More

Staying in Le Marais

Neighborhood Profile
Le Marais
The Marais is a winding maze of multi-faceted streets that beg to be explored. It bursts with small boutiques, historic buildings, cozy traditional restaurants, and hidden parks. Around each corner, you'll come across little gems of architecture spanning the centuries, from understated medieval towers to classical libraries and 17th century splendor. This neighborhood unites a rich mix of people of all ages, but it's best known for the gay scene mostly in the south and the Jewish community around Rue des Rosiers.
