Fast travel in France

TGV is probably one of the fastest and best ways to travel between cities in France. No problem, free to relax or work if you want to.

We recently took the tgv from Munich to Paris and it was amazing, as a Canadian it was my first time on a high speed train and they didn't disappoint at all. We opted for the first class option which I highly recommend for the small increase in price, the seats and space rival most Airlines and were very comfortable... More

This was Awesome. Our party of four traveled from Paris Gare de Lyon through to Nice. Total travel time was 4.5HRS & enjoyed every minute of it. We booked & paid for our tickets in Australia before we left with Rail Europe & each passenger was only 15 Euros. ???? So cheap. Couldn't even drive a car down there for... More

TGV was a first hand experience for me. Traveled in 2nd class, which was great and very comfortable. Everyone in our group fell asleep on the ride because the seats were really that comfortable.Passing the beautiful country side of Belgium and France, this was one of the most memorable trips. TIP : Book well in advance, you might be lucky... More

Excellent, speedy service. However, when we got to our *reserved* seats, they were occupied by 4 men who were dressed like businessmen. Underneath the nice clothes, however, they were pigs. We showed them that they were sitting in our seats and they just sneered. Luckily, the conductor came by and asked what the problem was and after seeing our tickets... More

My two sons enjoyed this train journey from Lyons to Paris after changing from Eurostar. It was a smooth, quiet and comfortable journey and we had no complaints at all.

We booked tickets from Rome to Paris with a brief stop in Milan to change trains. The first leg was on an Italian Trenitalia Frecciarossa train in business class. It was quite comfortable with big leather seats, free Wifi, etc. The second leg however, from Milan to Paris, was on a French TGV train in First Class (they didn't offer... More

The TVG would have to be the better way to travel with comfort an speed. The catering car too offers great coffee to enjoy while watching the French countryside pass by.

The TGV is one of the great railroads of the world for its reliability, speed, comfort, technological sophistication, and safety. If you live in America where train travel is thought to be for the other people, take a ride on the TGV and ask yourself if you would like to have such a system in the US. For certain distances... We took the TGV from Paris to Annecy, a eastern town in France adjoining Switzerland. I think it is the BEST way to travel across France, travels at amzing speed and very comfortable and very quite inside.
