We attended a performance of La Bayadere at this lovely modern opera house. This is a beautiful interpretation of the classic opera house with the bonus that the seats are very comfortable.

Seeing Don Giovanni here was one of the highlights of this trip of us. We went and saw a classical ballet of La Fille mal gardée at the classic Palais Garnier when Ms Myriam Ould Braham was nominated as the Danseuse Étoile in 2012. It was very fun, so we looked forward very much to seeing the opera in a... More

Don Giovani in an modern version taking place in an office building?? When I think of the Opera, I imagine beautiful costumes not office attire. The singers and music were exquisite but It just didn't seem to fit the set. I was rather disappointed.

Having been taken to the Opera Garnier since my childhood, I never actually got used to the gorgeous edifice, called La Bastille, which is technically superb, architecturally - interesting, although not in the most adequate position for this type of architecture - if I may say. I never really got used to it, although I love the Opera de Paris.

My wife and I had the pleasure of viewing the 4 hour opera at the Opera Bastille. The facilities of the Opera Bastille are well located right outside of the metro so very easy to get to and the facilities themselves are very modern. The Opera itself was interesting. Though presented in a modern context, the script itself was unadulterated.... More

An amazing experience. And if you want - look for cheap tickets on the Opera's site. Try booking in advance. I saw tickets available starting 10 EUR! The tickets for 100 EUR which I bought were at excellent seats. Bring your own food, the prices for beverages and snacks inside the Opera are ridiculous.

Saw a lovely performance of Madama Butterfly at the Opera Bastille earlier this month on our first visit to this opera house. The singers and orchestra were excellent, the traditional Japanese costumes were beautiful, and the minimalistic staging was striking. A happy feature of the production was supertitles in both French and English! Our excellent ground floor center seats were... More

It was an amazing show. I usually fall asleep at the movies or the shows. But not this time. A wonderfull experince. I bought my Category 2 tickets online, at the Opera Bastille website. I paid 150 euros, but you can find tickets in the 3rd floor for 15 euros. Get there with enough time, at least 30 minutes before... More

High quality location - everything is accurate towards services expected around the show itself - programs, help, bar, ...) One astonishing element - dressing of the visitors go from simple pair of jeans and snickers up to cocktail dress ...;-) Definitely a place to visit and even more enjoy for a unique show

We try to visit opera houses and performances in the major centres to which we travel. Gives us events to look forward to. We visited the National Opera in 2013 to see Arabella and, this being our next visit, looked through the offerings and wanted to see a big, meaty opera. Staging was stark (hey, it's a modern interpretation) but... More
