Saw the matinee here on Sunday. Fantastic theatre. We had booked a box and had a great view. On a tour last year we had not been able to see the Chagall ceiling as the area was being worked in. This time we saw it in all its beauty. Had not realised that the Artistic Director had resigned a few... More

I had a very nice experience of the Bastille opera. The building is magnificent and, inside, there is plenty of space. So during the intermissions, you can stroll around. It never feels too warm like in other opera houses. Since there are a lot of excellent bars and restaurants around the Bastille, I recommend to eat and drink there.

I saw the Bayadere on the New Year's eve here. It was amazing, the main ballerina was gorgeous and the costumes like a dream.

I am a fan of the ballet in the U.S. and bought my ticket several months in advance for an evening performance of La Bayadère ballet in Paris. The Bastille is a very modern and very impressive theatre and this particular ballet was well choreographed and performed. I attended this performance solo-not a problem as there were other solo attendees-and... More

This trip was a a bit of a pilgrimage for me revisiting a place i had first visited over 40 years ago and to see a ballet, La Bayadere, which was the first ballet I ever saw and which started a lifelong interest in the Art. This particular version is choreographed by Rudolf Nureyev after the choreography by Puskin and... More

I went to see this beautiful ballet performance! It was absolutely fantastic! Only downside would be that late comers were allowed to the auditorium nearly 20 minutes after the beginning of the show. They sit on aisle steps and disturbed the first act for people around them by taking the clothes off, looking for a stuff in thei handbags, unwrapping... More

We attended a performance of La Bayadere at this lovely modern opera house. This is a beautiful interpretation of the classic opera house with the bonus that the seats are very comfortable.

Seeing Don Giovanni here was one of the highlights of this trip of us. We went and saw a classical ballet of La Fille mal gardée at the classic Palais Garnier when Ms Myriam Ould Braham was nominated as the Danseuse Étoile in 2012. It was very fun, so we looked forward very much to seeing the opera in a... More

Don Giovani in an modern version taking place in an office building?? When I think of the Opera, I imagine beautiful costumes not office attire. The singers and music were exquisite but It just didn't seem to fit the set. I was rather disappointed.

Having been taken to the Opera Garnier since my childhood, I never actually got used to the gorgeous edifice, called La Bastille, which is technically superb, architecturally - interesting, although not in the most adequate position for this type of architecture - if I may say. I never really got used to it, although I love the Opera de Paris.
