Beautiful view

Nothing much to see but a very beautiful view. Go on the ship ride to enjoy the view. Make sure you have your cold clothes ready as the air is too chilled.

Forget the expensive restaurants and do yourself a favor and wonder downt to the Seine in the evening. Before you go....grab some salami, cheese, a baguette and a bottle of wine and have a picnic on the rivers edge. Ohhh....don't forget some chocolate too...or maybe stop at one of the riverside gelato joints. What an amazingly romantic place. If you... More

We stayed on the MS Renoir, when we stayed in Paris, which was beautiful, could not say a bad word about it, everything about the boat and it's crew were excellent. And a wonderful cruise through Paris, which gives a different view of the city from the River Seine.

Grant it, it was a bit chilly when I went, but I took the Batobus and was able to go to all the stops and explore the beauty of the water surrounding it all.

We walked along this river for more miles that I care to think about. Stuff that struck me: There is a bridge so overloaded with "locks of love" that it's becoming a problem. There are plenty of people hawking locks in the area for twice their price, so I'd suggest you bring one pre-engraved from home if you wish to... More

Words cannot describe this area of Paris. Absolutely breathtaking, the epitome of romance, adventure, style and love for life. The hatred towards Americans is totally overplayed, if you act like a jerk in someone else's country of course you will get treated badly. As long as you are polite and cordial, people will generally be nice back. Just remember that... More

The Seine has wonderful paths to stroll along and watch the boats pass by. If you are in great condition, you can walk the Seine from The Eiffel Tower a (few blocks away) all the way to the Louvre and Notre Dame. Yes it is a long walk, but with so many interesting bldgs., and people to see and watch... More

Do take one of the Bateaux Mouche, it's a really good way of seeing all the popular sights plus some different ones, particularly on a,lovely spring day.

My fiance and I went to Paris for Valentine's day, it was chilly but the view was incredible. You can take pictures along it, it's great for walking along. You could also go for a boat ride under the bridges (we didn't but I'm assuming it would be lovely). We went to the love lock bridge (not nearly as pretty... More

Staying in Les Halles

Neighborhood Profile
Les Halles
Historically the central iron-clad market of Paris, Les Halles has evolved architecturally since then but the pulsating energy has stayed the same. Now it houses the main shopping mall, which nestles underground surrounded by fast-food take-aways and international restaurants coupled with beautiful churches and the old commodity exchange. Parallel to it are the high-street stores of Rue de Rivoli and just parallel to that the Seine. The area bustles with faces from all continents and all ages at all times of the day. If enjoying high-street shopping with easy access to fast eateries and lively bars is on your agenda, this is the place to go.
