Wow, the sites you can see on the Seine are beautiful. Picture perfect all way around. You can see the Eiffel tower, Musee D' Orsay, Notre Dame etc.

If you focus on just the river and the water, then you'll think that there is nothing much to it. The water is pretty dirty. Even our tour guide said that if you jump into the Seine River, you will get instant cancer. Lol. But kidding aside, strolling right next to the river, with the Eiffel Tower in view, how... More

I went to Paris in the middle of summer when the sun only sets after 10PM and the weather stays warm and dry all the time. The River Seine is absolutely perfect for a stroll at night particularly around the Saint Germaine and Notre-Dame areas where the nightlife is always bustling! The street performers and groups of locals gathered along... More

A great place for a stroll along the walkways and gardens fronting the river. The bridges, "love locks", canal boats and most of sites in Paris can be seen from the river.

Romantic, crazy, etc.. The Seine is the heart and soul of Paris. I advise taking the small river boat tour from the Pont Neuf. It's cheaper and a nicer experience.

Great way to see the sights along the river. Get in early as alot more tourist during the aafternoon. Round trip on a batobus takes 2 hours and cost 16 euros.

The different period of the river has its unique romantic atomosphere. It's suitable for everyone to relaxedly walk down and get to know Paris. A magic place makes ppl fall in love with someone.

Every time we visit Paris, the Seine captivates us. best visited at dusk to appreciate the beautifully lit buildings on either side. The commentaries on the boat rides are rather drab and humourless but you just need to take in the extravagant architecture of the buildings that line either side of the river. Even more interesting is to walk from... More

When in Paris experience the city like a local. Go to the river in the evening and sit with Parisians, enjoy the river sights, bring a libation, wine, beer (the favorite drink in Paris, no wineries, many breweries), etc., bread, cheese and take in the evening. You likely will hear only French spoken. Go to the Pont Nuef bridge (Pont)... More

Took a boat trip down the river to get a glimpse of Paris from the river. Relaxing cruise and learnt quite a bit of the city. Boat trips leave from near the Eiffel Tower. Opportunities for some really cool pictures, especially near the Cite and Notre Dame.

Staying in Les Halles

Neighborhood Profile
Les Halles
Historically the central iron-clad market of Paris, Les Halles has evolved architecturally since then but the pulsating energy has stayed the same. Now it houses the main shopping mall, which nestles underground surrounded by fast-food take-aways and international restaurants coupled with beautiful churches and the old commodity exchange. Parallel to it are the high-street stores of Rue de Rivoli and just parallel to that the Seine. The area bustles with faces from all continents and all ages at all times of the day. If enjoying high-street shopping with easy access to fast eateries and lively bars is on your agenda, this is the place to go.
