Probably only of interest to military history buffs, and even then it was an average experience at best. I enjoyed my 2 hour walk through the museum, but in retrospect, would not have missed it if I'd done something else - and I am a big military history fan. The building housing Napoleon's tomb is stunning, but you can only... More

An excellent museum with outstanding exhibits illustrating French theatres of war at home and in former colonies. Napoleons' tomb in the museum precinct well worth a visit. Excellent cafeteria facilities.

Extraordinary....it is all here and in MASSIVE detail! Wear very comfortable shoes as there are few places to sit. Seeing Napoleon 1 Tomb is truly moving although don't ask the French what they think about him. If not interested in military history don't go...kids would find this a terrific experience. Endless galleries start with Louis IV, through the French Revolution,... More

I visited here alone whilst waiting for a friend. Got there pretty earlier and hired a headphone set. Turned it to English and enjoyed the museum from about 10am-1pm- thoroughly enjoyable. As the name suggest, it helps to be interested in army history (luckily after finishing a history degree I was). The museum goes through the army history of France-... More

It was a great stop and the museum is sooo much more then the tomb of Napoloean (which in and by itself is amazing!) The museum bosts one of the largest collections of 500 year old guns,... More

Very interesting place to visit. Alot that has been kept from Napoleon and the wars. We visited in the afternoon and it was a great way to spend a few hours. Napoleon's tomb was incredible!

The only reason why we visited this museum was to see Napoleon's tomb. I found the price to the museum slightly high, considering the fact that the tomb was the only thing we wanted to see.The museum exhibits itself was pretty average. It was raining when we got there, so we spent some time sitting by the canon courtyard after... More

Really enjoyed viewing the exhibitions here and only stirred my interest to learn more. Need a good 3 hours or so to look through.

This was my husband's "must-see". I went expecting it to be kind of a bore, but I was engaged and educated the whole time. I enjoyed getting history of the First and Second World Wars from the French perspective. Napoleon's Tomb was a little over-the-top but very beautiful. The cafe in the musuem is more like a cafeteria and extremely... More

As an archaeologist and history enthusiast I may be a tad biased, but please read on.......This museum comprises of several distinct areas and also host temporary exhibitions. You can basically split it up into the following sections: Collection of Medieval armour and weapons, the French military (including Napoleon and the Franco-prussian War) WW1 & WW2 and the Relief Map Museum....
