My daughter and I stumbled into this place after noticing how many Parisians were carrying stylish little bags with the la Mere de Famille logo on them. This place is tiny, so if you don't see many people inside, pop in quickly. Service was extremely friendly and the chocolates are delicious, the best we've had on our trip. Highly recommend.

This place is just off the passageways and we had to pay a visit to this old store and to buy and taste some real french candy for ourselves.

The store was a few blocks from our hotel so we decided to check it out. It's definitely a fun, old school establishment (which makes sense given how long it's been around!). There was a large selection of chocolates and other candies to choose from. We got a small serving of the chocolate, chocolate chip ice cream and it was... More

What a delight to stumble upon this beautiful establishment. Delicious chocolate was sampled and we left with lots of goodies to bring home to the family! All packed in a beautiful carry bag. Very obliging staff, what a Parisienne treSure!

Charmingly elegant and exquisite is an understatement of the experience you gain walking through the doors of this beautiful chocolate and sweet provider. The appearance and furnishings take you back to the 1930s though you can see the owners are proud of what they have to offer - a huge range of exquisite and high quality chocolates and sweets. One... I bought their book some time ago, and could not wait to visit. It's a little like stepping back in time. I decided to soak up the atmosphere and look at every single thing (more than once) before making my choices. I only wish I could fit more in my suitcase. However, I did walk out with quite a few... we found this amazing shop whilst walking from the Euro star to a restaurant on a day trip.Like going back in time.Bought many presents here for last Christmas, only downside was that I did not check the sell by dates and so some gifts were out of date for the gifts.A wonderful experience just to look at the shop.

This french "épicerie" is marvelous, a bit retro which makes it's charming, I can only speak for their Ice Cream. Not to many flavours but you only need one: Mint !!! To die for ! It's like you just picked your ice cream directly out from the garden

Staying in Opera / Bourse

Neighborhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighborhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theaters, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.
