I didn't know about this place but my wife did. "You won't regret it" she said, so we joined the line out front and waited our turn to fork out €3 each for single cones. I had Banana and she had Fig... We'll let me tell you, my wife was right! Probably the most delicious ice-cream I've ever had.

I'm not an ice cream afficianado, but my husband and kids are. Thumbs up from all of us (except the prices, but what can you do, it's the best in Paris). My husband and son got their usual something-chocolatey, but I ventured out for something new. It was basil, yes basil, and I think lemon. The best ice cream, and... More

As an attraction, Berthillon is situated in St.-Louis-en-l'Ile, a quaint neighbourhood - very pedestrian-friendly - great for a quiet stroll (with your yummy ice cream). It's proximity to Notre Dame also means you can tick the boxes off both in the same trip. Of course, it doesn't hurt that Berthillon sells fantastic ice creams/ glaces. My favourites: Wild strawberries, mandarin... More

We stopped at Berthillon frequently during our stay in Paris, alternating with Amorino which is practically across the street on Ile St. Louis. Some days the lines were horrendous, other times there were just one or two folks. Our favorite flavors are the noisette (hazelnut), Stracciatella (chocolate chip) and then all the fruit flavors but especially melon, pear and mango.... More

Sure, the queues were there, the hype was there and the anticipation was there as well! However the proof of the pudding is in the tasting (to coin a phrase) and although the ice creams we had were good, they were not the 'Man I've just gotta come back tomorrow for another' especially when the best and creamiest ice cream... My daughters loved the chocolate, hazelnut and strawberry, but I had the salted butter caramel ("caramel buerre sale," I think). Holy cow. We had to go way out of our way to come back a second night to have more, but it was worth it.

I had read all the hype about this ice cream, so I knew I had to try it or die wondering. My husband and I had a double cone each, we were both amazed at the freshness of the flavours. Both my peach and pear ice cream tasted like the fruit straight from the tree. I didn't think anything could... More

This organisation is listed as an attraction and a restaurant and I think it is both. We headed down on a warm afternoon and so did others so we had to wait about 5 minutes. Not long at all and the wait only developed our sense of excitement to try the interesting flavours. We had a double cone each. My... More

Stumbled on this gem while walking Ile St Louis to Notre Dame. Didn't spot the brasseries or restaurants offering Berthillon icecream until afterwards. Just a hole in the wall kiosk and a long queue but I've never tasted such fabulous ice cream and sorbets. Between us we sampled 9 different ices and everyone declared theirs to be the best they... Met a woman living in Paris while on train from London to Paris. She recommended we stop here to try the ice cream or sorbet. There were many flavors all fresh and the sit down area was very elegant with even more choices with drinks and other types of desserts. Definitely recommend as a stop for sweets.
