This has become part of our Paris tour! I was first taken there whilst working in Paris, by my boss. Wow! this ice cream is wonderful. Try the pruneau! We always take anybody that we are travelling with here. Its quite expensive if you go inside and sit down, and often busy. The best thing to do is go to... more

Berthillon has been an institution in France for 55 years, and for very good reason: it is really the best anywhere. People who complain about small scoops should just go get ice cream at McDonald's or Haagen-Dazs. If you're after quantity instead of quality, you really have no right to be wasting Berthillon's products on an undeserving palate. Berthillon's products... more

If you like ice-cream, you'll love Berthillon. This is a must see on any trip to Paris. I had a Framboise Melba. Vanilla ice-cream, raspberry sorbet, cream, pistachio nuts, raspberries and raspberry sauce. 10/10 Fantastico. more

I had my first taste of Berthillon icecream this trip to Paris, I had chocolate and glace orange that was to die for and well worth the ridiculous price! Yes, it is off the beaten track a little but I would return definately, I would not compare it to Italian gelato... totally different flavours and textures. Eat gelato in Rome... more

I was recently at Berthillion and agree that the ice cream scoop size was quite small. I had the pear ice cream and it was very interesting, very fresh tasting. My boyfriend had pink grapefruit which he enjoyed. We couldn't really sample much of each other's or we would have eaten all of it (yes the scoops were that small).... more

I think they make the scoops much smaller in Berthillon, but you don't have to purchase from the original shop as they're available from some other places around the same area, and other vendors may be more generous. Recommended to try: the extra bitter chocolate and the caramel & beurre sale (salty butter), a unique taste that is very French.... more

4 Euros will get you two "scoops", but they are not the scoops you are used to. Miniature, more or less 2cm in diameter scoops. The ice cream tastes good, but the sense of getting ripped off is not worth the hassle. Prefer the italian gelateria a few doors west, on the same street, for very good quality and decent... more

I had fabulous memories of the "WORLD'S BEST ICE CREAM" I was very disappointed this time around. For 9.5 Euros I received 3 small and crusty boules (you know the edge of the container that sits in the freezer too long). I also asked for some water (the free kind) which never arrived. My friend had food and a Kir... more

As a gelato lover I went hopeful to Berthillon to be severely disappointed as the thing lack the smoothness of Italian gelato. Some sherbet are effectively tasty but the consistence is springtime snow. What a waste of good ingredients. Cream flavours are ok, nothing special, hagen dazs could be better, some are bitterly artificial. I ran into 2 other ice... more

Every time I am in Paris this is my favorite stop. The ice cream is different than any I have ever tasted. It is wonderful. A bit off the beaten path but well worth the extra steps. more
