If you come to see it as a building is worth the visit. If you come to shop or to pass the time as you do in most malls than stay away. Is far below the standards of today’s malls

You have to go to the roof top and be there before 19.30. The view from the top is so beautiful, take the picture here or just sitting enjoy the city view. The mall close at 20.00 so when I was there around 19.30 the sales girl seems not happy to serve me. Tissot counter, chinese girl. So I lost... More

The inside of this building is gorgeous, it was what sparked my interest in going. In person, it is even more beautiful than the pictures. There are so many stores, and it is quite busy. We didn't spend long here, but we did explore a couple floors and purchased some Chanel perfume (the Chanel on the first floor was crowded... More

The Iconic shopping center in Paris Honestly it's little bit over-rated because you can go to another Galerie Lafayette in Paris where there's less people or I can say tourists. But in this gallery you can find a lot of staff who can speak English and Chinese. You can also go to the rooftop to see the panorama of Paris... More

I was expecting much more from the shopping centre prior to our visit. The architecture is more impressive than the shops inside, and the best part of the visit was being on the roof terrace overlooking Paris.

Europe does a great job with the mega-store in the heart of a city, and Galeries Lafayette is one of the best examples. The stunning stained glass windows alone are worth a trip, but the shopping is exceptional as well. Head upstairs to the 6th floor for Paris souvenirs. TIP: Cross the street to the Southwest to have a bite... More

Upscale department store shopping, but worth a visit just to see the interior. Built in early 1900s, stained glass domed interior that is truly beautiful. There is also a rooftop terrace accesible by just continuing up the escalators, to the stairs, to the top. The terrace is much larger than I expected, gives an impressive view of Paris, and you... Staying in Opera / Bourse

Neighborhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighborhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theaters, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.
