We got tickets for the big red bus in Paris which promised 10% off your purchases. We did exactly as prescribed. The women on the desk were completely useless. They said the discount only applied to non "red point" goods. Everything we purchased from 7 different brands was "red point" and didn't count. Quelle surprise!,,, Don't bother going ... The... More

You can go into Galeries Lafayette either to look or to shop (if you're so inclined) or perhaps both. What you cannot ignore is the stunning multi-floor atrium and coloured glass dome, which is one of the quintessential Belle Epoque buildings not just of Paris but anywhere. Yes it is a scrum down on the ground floor but for the... More

Immediately you see 2 buildings. The one on the right is for women. The one on the left for men. The woman's building is a must see and is spectacular. You must go to the rooftop. Great view. The prices are higher than anywhere and mostly designer. No sales here. It's huge and is a woman's dream. The men's side... More

The building wasn't crowded as others have suggested. It's vacation time in Paris during August and the Parisian's are on holiday. So that wasn't the problem. Being in the Galeries to us was like shopping alone in a closet. It's not crowded but claustrophobic. There is not enough available space. They took a reasonably large building and put a donut... Executive Summary: Pros - Big department store, rooftop has an amazing view and its free Cons - Very crowded I skipped the shops and went straight up to the roof terrace and luckily wasn't too crowded at 2pm. Highly recommend a visit to the roof terrace. Top tip - Escalators are quicker than waiting for the lifts.

Had read about how beautiful this store is so had expected better. It does have a richly decorated central atrium with a stained glass dome but it is so crowded there with tourists in a luxury brand shopping frenzy and so glitzy that it is hard to appreciate the atrium and to me it is fake looking- too glitzy. There... More

Maybe it's me? Maybe it was the day and time?? Simply put, this was not a fun experience. It was hectic and crowded and not the kind of shopping that for me is truly enjoyable. The view from the terrace on the rooftop was lovely, but quite frankly I couldn't wait to get out of there. Much preferred the boutiques... More

The shopping, even if you don't buy anything...the central shop space with the fabulous stained glass dome at the top...and then the open roof top terrace with breathtaking views of Paris. Fantastic and so easy to walk across the street and do the palais Garnier Opera site. A great afternoon.

Such a beautiful place to shop! I like to go on the roof top and take pictures. Don't forget to buy some macarons there too!!!! In separate building there is also a Men's store & a Home store!!!
