Another glitzy overpriced store aimed at the women. All high end designer wear aimed at the tourists. The range was not as great as Galeries Lafayette, but the prices were higher

Get inspired to dress like a Parisian from the mannequins in these shops! I happened to be there when flowers were all the rage. All of the mannequins had heads made completely of flowers. Plus there was a celebration and I got free gifts outside of the store.

Yes, the department store is excellent for shopping but the real star is to go up the escalators to the ninth floor rooftop terrace for the view and a glass of wine/champagne. On a clear and nice day head up and enjoy!!!! It can get crowded, but then that is part of the fun to watch the people and them... More

Had a great lunch under the dome in the upper restaurant. Very chic and loved the surroundings. Service was very good. The lunch menu wasn't too expensive

This place is amazing to get fantastic all round rooftop views of Paris. Even better still it's all for the price of a coffee. Don't go for the coffee though as it's pretty tasteless, comes from a machine where you push a button to make your selection. I don't think you actually have to purchase anything to gain access to... Unless your idea of shopping is to see hideously priced goods in an environment dominated by Asian tourists, avoid at all costs

There are a few reasons you must go to Printemps when you are in Paris. The first is that this year is the 150th anniversary of the store and they have dolled up the outside and inside with flowery pink! Love it. There are special creations that have been made exclusively for Printemps for their birthday. Not cheap, but NICE.... More

These Parisian department stores are icons. Both are worth a visit for different reasons. The photo of the glass ceiling dome interior is Galleries Lafayette, which is a more posh shopping experience. Printemps is a wonderful everyday shopping destination. As a tourist, both offer a great opportunity to see Paris from the store rooftop. Printemps rooftop is very hip. It... More

While Printemps offers a phenomenal shopping experience, this grand store also has a striking façade that is even more impressive by night. We were here during the January sales, and after leaving the store we were struck by the dramatic lighting especially at the corner of la rue du Havre and le Boulevard Haussmann.

Staying in Opera / Bourse

Neighborhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighborhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theaters, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.
