I like shopping here more than Galeries Lafayette since theirs less people, especially on the ground floor. As a foreigner, the lines to get taxes back is also very simple (kiosk) with several people helping out. If you go, I suggest be there at exactly 9:45am

We had lunch, spent a few dollars and when we needed a restroom break they charge 1€50 to pee. We will never spend another penny here. Otherwise pretty cool place.

Its like the Harvey Nichols of Paris, GO WHEN THEY HAVE THEIR SALES...even at normal times there is fashion for all pockets, I think I prefer Printemps to Lafayette, its more relaxed and feels more open.

I was fascinated by directional signs to the toilet which lead through VERY expensive women's lingerie. Finally I arrived at the designer inspired toilets. There was a price list. The least expensive "experience" (their words) was 1.50 euros for the "basic." I watched the scene, since you were required to queue, as the "cabinet attendant" sanitized the cubicle, then gave... I have visited Printemps, Galleries Lafayette and another major department store in Paris. I was expecting so much of course...but they pretty much shared the same style of clothing and collections. Either too glitzy to wear (Dior, Chanel etc) or something that only an underweight teenage girl would put on... If you want to do some real shopping, go to... More

Printemps is a luxurious stop on your shopping in Paris. A bit like Saks Fifth Avenue or Neiman Marcus, it offers high end items galore. A fun stroll for those who like to window shop!!

Printemps is in two buildings. When you enter the ground floor, find the welcome information center and grab a map of the department store. Also, if you don't live in the France, you can get a discount card by providing your passport. There's a circular cafeteria under a massive glass dome on the 6th floor. The second building has a... Three buildings with 7-9 floors worth of shopping. Loved the specialty floor displaying fine chocolates, fine wine, fine spirits, etc... all within a few feet of each other. Picked up an excellent Christmas gift for our niece, an artisanal recipe book containing French cakes, chocolates, biscuits, jams, spreads, and ice creams. Available in French and English. The top floor of... More

There is a cafe/restaurant at the top of the building. From here there are 360 degree views of Paris. It is beautiful and well worth the ride up!

Staying in Opera / Bourse

Neighborhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighborhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theaters, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.
