I surfed the internet and found the information that it's opened on 2013 summer. When I arrived there today, it's still closed..., same as what I saw 3 years ago... There also other visitors disappointed outsite the museum gate. Their website don't mention the exact opening date, which really waste visitors' time to be there.

Spent an hour walking there today. Sign on door says closed for renovations. Same sign as was posted in 2012 and 2013. Work was supposed to have been completed in the spring of 2013. The museum web site makes no mention of the museum being closed!! When we arrived, there were many other people standing around looking as the "Renovation"... More

Apparently the museum's been closed since 2009. Went earlier today and after a long walk found the building covered in hoarding. There's an information centre right opposite, manned by friendly staff, with an exhibition of Picasso's cutouts and a video presentation on his life and work, but otherwise, no real contact with his work.

Tucked away in a beautiful mansion in Le Marais it's very easy to overlook Musee Picasso. But for any true Picasso lover, it is well worth seeking out this gem. Sadly the museum is closed for the duration of 2013 as it's undergoing renovations. If you're planning a trip in 2014, be sure to add it to your itinerary.

After seeing this museum, I still don't understand Picasso. But what I do have a feel for is the style of his art. I think I would usually be able to identify a painting as his if it was a painting I was seeing for the first time. I'm glad I went even though his later works are beyond my... More

Worth a visit just to see the building. Small, elegant, and full of atmosphere. The path through Picasso's body of work is very well organized and easy to navigate.

Wonderful museum housing all Picasso's major works from from 1905. The blue period is mu favorite and the museum also houses engravings, sculpture (made from household objects) and ceramics.

Since the Marais is the only place with open stores during the week end, it's nice to go in the area and visit the museum. It's a nice museum but can be fairly crowded on Sundays.

I live opposite the Musee Picasso and every day see disappointed visitors who come to visit. The building is still a total shell. It was meant to reopen in 20011 and now it claims to re-open in 'Summer 2013', but I reckon they have at least two years to go. There is a small Institute opposite with some content and... More

There is no other setting in Paris more impressive. Both the building (hotel sale) and the artist who has filled it. It's worth 2 visits. One just to take in the building another to absorb the vast legacy, artistic wealth and energy Picasso has left behind. This is a brilliant setting in the Marais. Not to be missed.
